Lumpsectomy

Hi i have been given a date for lumsectomy & lymphnodes after ginding out that i have grade 1 breast cancer just last week…my operation is friday 5th feb and am a nrvous wreck
Need to also start radiotherapy 6 week later & just wondered what to expect?
They found the cancer after i went to have a cyst drained…the blighter was hiding behind so they were lucky to spot it as its that small ot would have been several years that i would have felt it…thankyou in advance and a speedy recovery to all the ladies that have already been through this x

Hi Sarahlou, sorry to see why you are here but you have come to the right place for help, advice and even a good old rant if you want one! It really does help to talk to others who have been through it all.

I was diagnosed with Grade 2 breast cancers in both sides this time last year and have since had lumpectomies, sentinel Node biopsies and then radiotherapy so if there is anything you’d like to know, please ask away.

Take care of yourself and, if you can, try not to think too far ahead, just focus on the op and recovering from that for now.  Sue x

Thankyou susu im so sorry to hear your news.
I just dont know what to expect from start to finish etc…or how im going to feel when i wake up from the op x
I have 3 children 2 who are still at school and dont know how to prepare them

Thankyou very much for all your kind words x

I know what you are going through., I have been there myself.  Prior to surgery, I made sure to exercise at least once a day.  On the day of the surgery, I did likewise, and I found it put me in a healthy state of mind.  Regarding the surgery, I gave the lump a name.  It was Fred!  I went into surgery and told the surgeon to do a good job of evicting Fred!  After surgery, I allowed myself a couple of days with no exercise and then gradually introduced an exercise regimen.  When it was time for my radiation, each day prior to the treatment I did an hour of exercise and walked to the hospital for the radiation treatment.   This helped me tremendously in dealing with …  the diagnosis, the surgery and then the radiiation.

I wish you well.  It is important to keep yourself in a healthy state of mid…

Keep on trucking.,

Thankyou very much to you all…im already feeling much better
Wishing you all great health & happiness x
