Lung Lasers

Hey I hope everyone is feeling well. I wondered if anyone had any informations/experience/any knowledge at all(!) on the following:

dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1311146/Lung-Zapper-fires-equivalent-power-70-ovens-tumours-size-postage-stamp.html

My Grandmother suffers from mets of the lung and the oncologist hasnt mentioned this as a treatment option. I wasnt sure of the actual accuracy of the article after seeing it in the Daily mail! But perhaps worth looking into…?

Hi 1 Ruby

I haven’t been on this site for a while so have only just read your thread.

I noticed an article in the Sunday Mail last week saying that there was a machine at Bromstone Hospital in London which was able to laser lung mets up to the size of a postage stamp.

I have lung mets but have multiple nodes (small particles) so I imagine they would not be able to do anything about that, and wonder if your grandmother also has this. If so, that is probably why the oncologist has not suggested the treatment.

I got the impression from the article that they could treat a solid mass, and it did say that the majority of people had lung cancer, which is completely different from secondary breast cancer.

Hope this info is helpful to you. Best wishes,

Trixie x

Hello Trixie i hope you are having a good weekend

we had an oncologist appointment and forwarded some research i had done onto him. He seemed quite positive and not at all dismissive, he asked to keep some of the reading i have done and we will be talking it through.

I was also going to call the specialist at Bromstone for good measure! i will post whatever is said.

best wishes

Hi 1 Ruby

Glad you had a positive response from Bromstone. Yes, please let me know what happens. I saw a lady doctor at my oncologist appointment last week and she said machine would not help with the secondaries I have in the lungs. It will be interesting to know whether they can do anything for your grandmother - fingers crossed for her.

Best wishes,
