Hi Nik,
I, like you, have stage 3 grade 3 dct, diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I found the lump in my armpit end of June. I’m still waiting for MRI scan and oncologist plan. I will be having chemo herceptin and hormone treatment before surgery. I have 2 small kids so just have to keep going as normally as possible. I do think the waiting is the hardest bit. I’m hoping once treatment starts things will feel more in control. I felt the same as you the first 3 weeks, but seem to be a bit more balanced this last couple of weeks - I think it’s helped stopping work. Hope The meds you got from the Doctor have helped. Take each day at a time - things will feel much better once you have got the treatment started,

Hi Cathysid
It looks like we were diagnosed at simular times, both with armpit lump and both awaiting chemo herceptin. I’m seeing the chemo nurse next week! I have already had lump removed but need another op after chemo to remove pre cancerous sells at the margin!
I hope Nic Nic doesn’t mind me joining in this thread, but it’s very helpful to be reading comments to others also as I can’t think what to write sometimes as I’m so confused.xx
CK - of course my lovely. We’re all here for the same reason and any help you can get from any source is a good thing.
Hugs to all xxx
We are definitely not alone in this forum. There are so many of us going through this. It’s good to have the support of people going through the same thing - hopefully we can all pick each other up on our bad days!
An enlarged lymph node showed up on my mammogram and ultrasound but nothing showed in breast. A biopsy showed cancer in the lymph node so had MRI of breasts but again no tumour was found and a CT scan showed no spread of breast cancer anywhere else. Had an axillia clearance 12 days ago and got the results today. 5 out of the 11 lymph nodes taken had cancer in them. I’ve now to see the oncologist but the consultant told me chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone tablets have all been recommended as well as a mammogram every 6 months to keep an eye on the breast. Has anyone else here ever had the same diagnosis as this?
