I recently under went a mastectomy with a grade three tumour and three other tumours removed with the breast . I then has a lymph node clearance where twenty of my lymph nodes tested positive for cancer . I had a reconstruction at the same time where by they used my latismus Dorsi muscle or some of it to support the implant . I am about to start chemo and herceptin in the next couple I’d weeks undergoing the scans and testes needed first .i am really worried about the amount of nodes that tested positive and have not met any one or heared of anyone with so many ? Are any of you out there that have had as many or more ? I am obviously worried as my tumour was very aggressive and busy ,xx

Yes there are plenty of us with lymph node involvement. That’s their job to catch the cancer cells before they get anywhere else. But even if a few do get through, chemo will blast them to kingdom come! Read through the forum and you’ll find plenty of examples where women have had loads of positive nodes and were successfully treated.

Hi murphy, yes I had 26/27 lymph nodes positive plus 2 grade 3 tumours one was 8cm the other 2cm. I too was shocked when I read other posts as I thought mine was normal diagnosis but it appears to be rather large! Had a masectomy in September and had 2nd chemo last Friday. Speak to your oncologist of surgeon. Mind put my mind at rest that they’d dond the right op and now we’re attacking with chemo and radio. Keep positive xxx
Murphy I know we’re all different, but my CT scan was clear and I had more nodes positive. Thinking of you x
