Lymphangitis

Hello,

I had stage 3 BC eight years ago and had chemo, mastectomy, rads and now on tamoxifen.  I recently had a cat scan for an unrelated condition but instead of the results confirming that I had Interstitial Lung Disease as suspected, the letter I received (three months after the scan!) stated they couldn’t rule out Lymphangitis. I didn’t even know what the word meant and had to look it up. As far as I can gather it means metastatic spread to the lungs via the lymphatic system. The consultant said he would arrange another ct scan as soon as possible but I then got a letter from the hospital saying that there were long delays with getting scans done because of covid 19.  Has anyone else heard of Lymphangitis?  Is anyone finding they’ve been left in limbo as regards scans.  I just want to know one way or the other. Thanks for tat he time to read this.

Hi

In the 12 years I’ve been on this forum, since my mets were diagnosed, I have never heard that term used! Maybe someone else has and can help you.

In every other case of a lung mets diagnosis ladies have been told exactly that - ‘you have lung mets’. Using different terminology is certainly a bit confusing.

I do hope you get some clear answers soon, coronavirus has made things more difficult in terms of getting routine scans done but hopefully they will be back to being carried out soon as it is recognised that delays or lack of cancer treatment will  have longer term implications.
