Lymphoedema risk calculator

I know that not everyone wants to know probabilities, and these sorts of calculators are imperfect as there are many factors that might affect the risk to an individual. Different studies implicate different factors.
But I’m the sort of person who feels that they need as much information as possible. If I don’t have information, I tend to think something is worse than it is.
So for anyone like me, here is a link to a paper on lymphoedema risk calculators (with links to the calculators themselves) based on pre-surgery and post surgery information.

Interestingly, this study indicates that even people having neoadjuvant chemo (ie chemo before surgery) should avoid having the chemo in the same arm as where the lymph nodes will be removed

Thanks for this BlackSwan.
I’m exactly like you, I have a huge thirst for knowledge, and I worry more about what I don’t know than what I do - if that makes sense.

I had a 1% risk of getting lymphodema according to my surgeon only had SNB Was told could do whatever I did before after surgery. Oh and according to that calculator 10% risk. Guess who got it after only 6 months!!!
Having SNB on other side next week will be taking a lot more care this time!!!
