lympthnode results

hi it is good new i think anyway lol. my lymthnodes were clear. however they have decided that i still should have chemo and maybe rads. can anyone explain that if they got all the bad out which i was told they had, why chemo is advised he said that its cos im so young and it reduces the risk of it returning. how true is this

very true.
Good news about your nodes and clear margins, but it only takes 1 little b****r to sneak out and cause you problems later. You will be glad to chuck everything at it.

You will read on these forums how many people go through chemo etc and then get insecure about being set free. Chemo is not all bad. I just finished my3x FEC and about to start TAX. I have sailed through it so far. hair loss is everybody’s worse fear and it seems few get to keep it. But if you never get this horrible time back in your life it will be worth it.

Good luck
Embrace your good results and the treatment

Hi madgal

I had no lymph involvment but still had chemo as I was told it was an inurance policy, as sometimes it is thought that rogue stray cells can escape, it was explained to me as senior, junior and infants cells and is just a precaution, better safe than sorry I think is what they think and i would agree, I was very sick with FEC but would go through it all again if I had to…

Hi Madgal,

I had loads of lymph node involvement so chemo was obviously a must for me! However, when I was first diagnosed, and before I had even had my mastectomy, I was told that I would defo be having chemo and rads regardless because of my age (I was 34 at the time of diagnosis).

Hope that helps,

Take care,

Kelly

thanks girls. that has put my mind at rest. just one question, if my lympthnodes were clear is it likely that i will only need a low dose of chemo or will they give a high dose anyway, i have to have 6 rounds one every three weeks

Hi my love

the amount they give you is determined by your weight and height or it was on the FEC at my hospital

hope this helps

Love
Pam
