Mammogram results at last

Hi Ladies,

I have been to my lymph oedema clinic today. I received excellent information and yes I have go mild lymph oedema in my breast and arm.

I also asked about my results for my second mammogram which I had done on the 14th January 2008. My lymph oedema nurse was able to get my results and gave me a printed copy. I had telephoned xray they told me it had not been verified. I asked if verified meant checked and she said yes. I explained to Loraine how stressful it was waiting and she told me that eighteen women were on her voice mail Monday morning asking her to find out their results. They have apparently changed the ‘system’ yet again.

The waiting has been particularly stressful this time I don’t know why.
It has felt like I have been nursing a bomb which was about to explode anytime. This is the only way I can describe it.

Anyway, I have my clinic appointment with surgeon this month on the 19th. May then hopefully I may start to relax a bit.

HI Jugsy - So glad you found that you got good support and information from the lymphoedema clinic. If you can be seen when you have only mild lympoedema that is so helpful in getting good advice on what to do to prevent it worsening and hopefully it won’t cause future problems for you. Sorry you have had a worrying time waiting for your results of your mammogram - the waiting for results is just awful. Good luck with your appointment on the 19th, and as you say, hopefully you can relax again after that! Let us know how you get on. Love Sarah
