A question I hope you ladies might be able to help with my wife marg has her first mammogram on Thursday after her mastectomy (she has a tissue expander) she was wondering will they only do a mammogram on her good breast if they do will she then have an ultra sound on her mastectomy side, thanks it’s a worrying time as this was the time of year when she was first diagnosed, though to be honest I think I am more worried than she is.
I had a mastectomy followed by a delayed reconstruction. The mammogram is only done on my good side. There is no screening of the recon side.

Hi Kevinj,i had double mx with immediate recon and when I asked what checks I would have in future they said just a physical exam which im not happy about.My yearly check isnt until aug but i will be interested how others have coped with this and wether you can request a scan even if you have no symptoms
