March 2025 chemo starters

My oncologist said it’s considered to be good if you finish most of the sessions but not necessarily all of them (in my case I could have finished 10 out of 12 and it would considered to be a success).
@lauzloo if you decide to skip it, what would be the next step for you?

That’s good to know. I’ll be having a phone call with my oncologist tomorrow so I’ll ask her if she would consider 7 out of 8 rounds successful.
Worried if I don’t have it though that I’ll worry later on down the line that I didn’t technically finish the chemo and does that increase my risk of recurrence…

My next step is surgery, then it’ll be radiotherapy

I am going to ask my oncologist the same as docetaxol is wiping me out so want to do 5/6.
As you are the same as me ,I think surgery and then radiotherapy will sweep any residual hopefully

I had to miss one of my 12 Paclitaxels as i was so wiped out and needed time to recover. I was worried at first but i felt so much stronger for my next cycle after a break. I wonder if you feel feel as worried if it wasnt your last one @lauzloo
? I completely understand your concerns around regreg later on. Inhet the impression from my oncologist that alot of people miss doses and reduce strengths because what we are foing throuh is so very brutal. Hope the conversation goes well with your team and you feel happy woth your decision either way.

I seem to be on the same path as you and @hasnae87 . 3 more cycles of EC and then surgery and radiotherapy. Still a long way to go but ticking the weeks of chemo off and hoping to start to feel stronger after that!

Good luck! X

Can’t get out of the funk today, been a bit queezy and still realy tired no energy to do anything, just laid on sofa snoozing all day, keep putting my hat on as I can’t stand seeing bauldilocks in every reflection and I’d love to be able to eat something nice and tasty.

Same here, my sister is pushing me to go for a walk but my muscles refusing to do it.
As we are march starters we near the end or almost there all sides effects are accumulating and taking a toll on us , it’s take me 10 days this time to be able to stand and cook something in the kitchen.
Will try to enjoy my good week starting from Thursday even I know I will get another strike on the 19th
Soon we will be able to eat what we wish, since I start on 27th I never order food from outside as scared to be contaminated or make me sick.
Let’s keep fighting we nearly there.

Oh i am feeling you! This EC busines is brutal. Its wiped me out more than anything ive ever known. Actually thought i may pass out today, feel so weak.and fatigued. Its not like me at all i woild normally just push on but i have found my limit. Day 6 at moment and looking forward to when i may feel a little stronger. And my taste buds come back as everything tastes awful. Think i prefered the weekly chemo, i would always be feeling a bit better by monday (had it every wed).

Lots of love to everyone feeling it at the moment x

I also felt better by Monday on a weekly chemo, had it on Wednesdays too… Now with EC it takes 8-9 days to get better. Having my next chemo next Wednesday so I’m already prepping a lot of food and clearing my schedule to just lie on the sofa and hopefully sleep from all the anti-nausea meds
The good thing that after the recovery there are 10 good days

With EC I found the first 10 days really hard and could hardly get out of bed, then after day 10 it all started to lift. I’ve got paclitaxel number 4 tomorrow. Then I’ll have 8 to go! The ECs are so brutal, so you’re doing v well x

It def feels worse after each cycle. I’ve got 9 weekly packitaxel to go (number 9 tomorrow) so I’m gradually ticking them off. Just want to wake up and be down to the last 2!

Man it is brutal! My oncologist told me id got through the hardest part with Paclitaxel.and Carboplatin but think she lied!! This feels way harder. But maybe its because i havent had the ‘good part’ yet?

Well done on knocking those Paclitaxels off the list… youre getting so close!:muscle::muscle:

Thank you! Just completed 4/12 paclitaxel
I honestly think EC is so much harder. Paclitaxel isn’t a walk in the park. But EC is brutal and knocked me off my feet!

Thank you @joast79 - you too. Are you sleeping a lot? How are you feeling? X

@sbee I’ve been dosing alot. I feel so fatigued and weak. Its such an effort to even get to bathroom. This is the first time ive not been able to go out, drive, cook etc. Feeling really sorry for myself and useless. At this moment in time i feel like im not going to get through the next 3 cycles :weary:
