Good to hear you’ve got your meds sorted. I’m having pac on its own as I’ve had surgery in Jan (I’m her 2 negative).
I’ve had my dose reduced but the fatigue is still there and I find I’m more emotional on pac, maybe it’s just the relentlessness of weekly. I’ve got 30 days to get thru then illl be done with chemo. Happy for you to dm me and we can pull each other over the pac finish line!
I hope everyone is doing ok and ready for the next week ![]()
I have a surgery tomorrow and spent several days in a crazy preparation mode cooking, cleaning, etc… I’m living alone, so trying to make the apartment recovery-friendly.
I’m so tired now that I’m almost looking forward to anesthesia and doing nothing after surgery
Fingers crossed everything goes well.
Have a nice week everyone!
All the best for tomorrow. I hope eberything goes smoothly and your recocery is swift x
Be thinking of you tomorrow. You e done chemo, you’ve got this. ![]()

All the best for tomorrow and wishing you a quick recovery. Sending lot of hugs
All the best for surgery - and wishing you a speedy recovery x
All the best and wishing you speedy recovery! Lots of love x
How’s everyone doing this week? It’s been quite here…
I had my surgery and feeling better than I thought I would so far… And again, trying to get that feeling that I accomplished something and be a bit more satisfied but it’s really hard.
Now waiting for my pathology report which will come back in 3 weeks
it’s very nerve-wracking but I tried to think of every possible scenario and create a plan to cope, it makes me feel a bit more in control.
Well done. How are you feeling? Are you being looked after? X
Well done! It has been quiet on here. I’m doing ok, 3 weeks and 3 days left of chemo for me then I start radiotherapy. I’m feeling a bit battered by chemo now, look bald and bloated! I’ve got 4 more weekly pac chemo to go and they can’t come soon enough. I’m feeling v tired now and every fri/sat days 4/5 I’m an emotional mess!
So glad you are all done with surgery @chita. Hope you feel the recovery is going well and everything crossed for your pathology results.
Feeling very similar @stafford22 so emotional now and the EC really knocking me physically for 10-12 days. Went in with a high temp last round and then got hives from the antibiotics so had to stop those. On the day after my second EC today and feeling ok but this happened last time and I crashed. Tried to convince them to lower the dose but they weren’t having it. Said they would give me another week to recover but felt ok on the day so decided to go ahead, the quicker we get through them the sooner I can move on. How are you coping with the EC @joast79 as I think you are maybe on a similar timeline to be or almost through?
Hope everyone is coping in this heat and everyone else is doing ok recovering. Making it hard to deal with the side effects but I am not a fan of the hot hot heat generally ![]()
You’re doing so well, I found EC really hard.when do you finish chemo? I finish on 5th August. It’s strange how it’s hit us emotionally but it’s been a long time of treatment and it feels like a marathon! Once chemo is over then I’m going to try and increase my fitness if my body allows. I looked at a photo of me a year ago up to today and it’s like two different people! Especially on days like today where it’s too hot to wear my wig. Hopefully I lose the chemo weight (I’ve put on 2 stone on chemo). I’ve been eating healthily but hardly done any exercise as my legs have been too weak x
@stafford22 - I understand this, I genuinely can’t recognise myself at all! It’s terrifying. I have somehow completed chemotherapy and feel like a shell of myself. Final treat has been a horrendous uti. X
Everyone is doing so well and so close to the end of chemo, if not made it already. I have to say @wren8 if they had given me the option to walk away from it all after cycle one inwould have. Endes up in hospital febril neutropenic and narrowly kissed a blood transfusion due to aneamia. I felt awful and genuinly didnt think i could go through that again. They decided not to reduce dose and see how i went. Cycle 2 knocked me for 7-10 days. Disnt really leave house. Felt weak and so fatigued. Mouth (and nose???) Ulcers so felt pretty low. However the second half i have felt like i can make plans and do things with people. Still have to be careful not to over do it but its given me the ability to get through the rough days.
I general tho in am pretty over chemo. 18 weeks in and still 6 to go. My consultant kept apologising last week as she said it is so hard this treatment plan!
I also had to have an additional scan as she wasnt sure if she could feel the lump again and as i had changed chemos she wanted to check i was still responding. So had that today which was nerve wracking. Good news is its still the same as my midway point… nothing to see there anymore. Ill take that positive and it will keep me going for the next 6 weeks and beyond.
Im looking forward to getting some.fitness back too. Cant wait to feel like i want to do something again. Having been thrust into a medical induced menopause hasnt helped! So close. Ive got my second to last EC on wed then the countdown is on!
Interesting about the photos, I was just searching for some photo the other day and looked at my photos just from last autumn and was hit hard by how different I looked…I look so much more tired and actually older now
I hope it’s temporary and the body will recover, including the looks ![]()
@sbee I’m recovering quite well, my friends pop up to support me and are always in touch but despite that it feels very lonely. This is w very lonely journey overall, I’m glad we have this forum and each other!
Don’t be too hard on yourself about weight gain during chemo, some drugs are known to cause it especially Taxanes such as Docetaxel and Paclitaxel. I put on 1 1/2 stone during chemo and I’m now back to my pre chemo weight after 18 months. I’m also on Aromatase inhibitors that reduce all your oestrogen which in itself can cause weight gain/ extra fat around your middle. Post chemo, I tried trying to eat healthier but no weight moved. Walking for 50 minutes before eating breakfast and reducing portion size have been the key for me.
After chemo you need to let your body recover and for me that took time.
A wonderful charity called Penny Brohn offer a treatment support programme, Living Well with Cancer, nutrition know how as well as exercise classes like Yoga ( stretch and relax) or Taichi (mindful movement) that are accessible online. All offered for free with donations gratefully accepted.
Treatment Support Programme was really helpful during chemo for me.

Penny brohn is a great centre! I live in bristol and it’s not far from me. After chemo I’m attending one of their wellness days. It’s a full day and looks good. Thanks for the tips on diet and weight. I think itll take a while to get my fitness back up but I’ll get there. A couple of stone is nothing when this treatment is saving my life. X
Ooh maybe we will meet one day as I live just across the bridge in Wales and go to PB most weeks.

Ah wow! Yes maybe we might! That’ll be nice x
