March 25

I’m ashamed to say lm depressed.
Pain getting me down. Can’t tolerate medication. I hate the stuff.
Met with enhanced palliative care doc at Liverpool yesterday. What a lovely man
I don’t want carers in looking after me washing me +++but lm told l will need it.
I want control of this. Why can’t l go to the lsle of man for assisted dying? Can’t plan a holiday because lm worried about what next. How are you all coping girls? What pain relief are you having? It feels grim. I keep getting anxious about my very handsome cat Charlie, my daughter who will need a social worker as lm her appointee for everything, and husband who is only four years off eighty. I know alot of young women are:sparkling_heart: suffering more, young children. I thought all day . ," what is the point" ??? I respect you all. Prayers and love :two_hearts: xx

Hi @shaw1 I’m so sorry you are feeling so depressed. I can’t imagine what it is like you for, I have a primary diagnosis and nearly 2 years on from finding a lump, but I would like you to feel supported.

I would encourage you to call the helpline on 0808 800 6000 the nurses are fabulous and just let you chat. As they don’t open until 9am maybe you could call Samaritans on 116 123 it’s a free phone number and they have people available 24/7. I recently did some training in another volunteer role and they said it’s for anyone who just needs to talk.

I hope you sharing on this forum has helped knowing there are people who care and want to listen. I believe I have signposted you on another thread for online support where you can meet others with secondary with a counsellor where you can share your feelings and fears.

BCN have one this week on the 27th.

Also Penny Brohn have an Advanced Vonnect group next Wednesday on 2nd April. The pink words will send you to the booking page should you wish to join.

Thinking of you. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through at the moment @shaw1. Your feelings of anxiety and worry are completely valid, please know that the forum is here for you.

How are you feeling today?

As @naughty_boob has mentioned, our nurses are here for you to chat things through on our free helpline 0808 800 6000 which is open Monday to Friday 9am-4pm and 9am-1pm Saturday. I know many here have found it useful to talk to them in difficult times.

The Samaritans line is available 24/7 on 116 123, please don’t hesitate to give them a ring, they’re here to talk anytime.

Thinking of you,
Lucy

Hi. You don’t say why you are your daughters appointee but I’m guessing she has a disability of some sort. I have an adult son with a severe learning disability. I would advise you to get in touch with social services as soon as possible because if your daughter needs support, and especially if she will need somewhere to live, then all this will take a while to sort out. If you are not feeling you can do all this by yourself you can ask for an advocate to help you.
