Mastectomy - how long is the surgery?

Can somebody please tell me how long the surgery takes usually for a mastectomy and axillary clearance? I have mine tomorow.

my masectomy took an hour and half,
i only had 7 sample nodes removed though, not full clearance.

I had mine this time last week. The op takes about an hour and a half. You can get a pre-med (tranquillizer) to calm you down beforehand if you want. I didn’t have anything. I was nervous as hell but they wheel you in, inject a lovely drug that makes you feel fab for about 3 seconds and then you wake up on the ward it all being over.
I’m now home (got back on Sat - but I have small kids so couldn’t risk drains being pulled out by them!). Most people get out very quickly.

My bi-lat mast and full clearance was 4.5 hours, and I had some rather nice temazepan before surgery - I was waving and smiling at everyone on my way to theatre!!! Get some of that, I recommend it!
