Claire had high temperature during the taxotere so whizzed to GP, did blood test, urine sample etc etc.
A microscopic trace of blood in the urine that after a quick test wasnt an infection so they have referred Claire to Urology for more testing.
Obviously your mind goes to the worst place but surely, surely as she is being blasted by chemo, it isn’t anything sinister??
anybody else had similar experiences or are we simply being paranoid (which its easy to become)
Yes I had a similiar experience. Second Tax on day 2 same symptoms, GP gave me antibiotics. The Onc said Tax is very harsh on the bladder and can strip the lining (eek!).
No other investigation other than the CT scan that was due anyhow.
My symptoms stopped after a few days though, Onc said the high temp “could” of been caused by any one of the Tax, Herceptin or GCSF injections I’d had or a combiination of the 3.
Hi Andy, I hope Claire is drinking lots of water. I obviously didn’t because as soon as chemo finished my bladder problems started. I’d never had cystitis prior to the FEC and TAX but I’ve been plagued with it eversince.

Hi, I have had several cases of blood in my urine pre chemo and aways came back NAD.
I always try and drink copious amounts of water following chemo and thankfully have not had any problems.

Having read this thread it reminded me that when I was on Taxotere I noticed that I would feel like I had a full bladder and needed a wee, but when I actually went to the loo I would pass a much smaller amount than I expected to. I have to say at the time I had so many other SEs that I didn’t think too much about it and that this problem has resolved itself since I finished the tax.
