Hi Anita,
How do you feel, hope it went well and you feel o.k…
I got my wig from Liverpool and wouldn`t really recommend it , apparently the guy who runs it, who is brilliant, has been in hospital so the family are running it for him. I would stick to Blackpoool if I were you.
I keeep trying mine on but not sure about it…just ordered more hats from headcovers.
Do let us know how you got on ,
Take care,
Janx
Hi everyone
Not sure if I’m at the right place but been diagnosed today with breast cancer - Grade I invasive duct carcinoma. All very strange to me at the minute - it’s as though everyone’s talking about someone else - I can’t relate it to myself just yet. Seeing surgeon this Friday, radioisotope next Wed, lumpectomy Thurs, home Fri well, that’s the plan. My breast care nurse is at Lancaster, I’m having the radioisotope injection at Barrow-in-Furness, the surgery at Kendal and the radiotherapy at Preston - I’ll be well travelled if nothing else!

Hi all,
Ian is on annual leave this week so i have been here there and everywhere. I have read this thread but have had no time to add to it…so here goes now…
Hi Jan,
How did your game of golf go?
You said you were having your next chemo on the 21st… i am not due until the 28th…there was a lady that i was in hospital with and whom all our appointments have cooincided with (until this one)…her name is Pam and she will be there with her husband Maurice on the 21st…she is slim and blonde, she is in her 50’s but does not look it, her hushand has collar length hair, is tall and usually wears a longish coat…if you see her say hi and she is further on in her treatment and may be able to answer any of your questions etc…they are a lovely couple…you meet some lovely people on this journey don’t you…
You said about your grandchildren…what lovely ages…are they girls or boys?
How are you Anita after your first FEC i hope the side effects aren’t too bad. I never had FEC but i am sure that we can support you through it.
I would echo what Jan has said about getting your wig from Blackpool…the Liverpool one was awful with me…i did phone up and complain and it was only to her husband…typical me…
Do you both know about head start? I spent ages buying scarves etc that just were not suitable for me…anyway there is a link on this web site with telephone nos etc…but for this area you can contact the Linda McCartney Centre, based at the Royal Liverpoool University Hospital and ask to be put through to head start…they are brilliant, really sensitive and knowledgeable …you can arrange to have a consultation with them…it is on a one to one…you can try on different scarves, head wear etc, buy there and then and order items etc…the scarves are brill, all colours and prints and are only £2.50…they show you how to tie them etc and you can also book onto the look good feel better programmes they run…again in this area it isthe beauticians from George Henry Lees that come and show you beauty stuff and you get lots of freebies to take home…i have just rearranged mine for the 14th July…they also have headstart at Chorley Hospital…again you could ring there and arrange things if it is nearer…
How are you getting on Karen? Are the nausea bands still working?
How about you Jill, i bet you feel like a new woman after your chemo and now your rads are finished.
I had my meeting with my manager and HR and i am going back to work on a part time phased return week commencing 5t May if Occ Health ok it…i am seeing the doctor there on the 2nd May so fingers crossed…
The nausea has also stopped (well subsided greatly) now the chemo tablets have stopped so i was able to eat properly yesterday for the first time and my mum, siste and i went to Liverpool and had a tapas wityh lots of sangria…i feel a little queasy now but it was well worth it…
We actually went to Liverpool on a baby girl shopping expedition as my sister is pregnant and is due on the 14th June and she had a 4d scan last week and found out she is having a little girl…her name will be Ella…and i can’t wait…so we bought more baby girl clothes to go with Ella’s ever increasing wardrobe…ahhh…some gorgeous things out there…
Well i will sign off now.
Love and hugs to you all love Deb xx
