Message for Anita C HI Anita
nice to see you on the forum,
I take it you don’t have any nasty side effects as yet with the new chemo which is good and hopefully you wont.
I have my appointment for Rads to start Aug 2nd intial consultation on the 25th July to planit…
I notice you are going to Guildford, I did ask to go there but I have to go to London for mine as they dont want to hand me over to another health authority…Guildford is easier for me but there you go you have to go with what they advise, I will have a 3 hour round trip[ tube journey GREAT!!!

Hi Lucy I ache all over! It started in the night - it’s what I was expecting - but it’s not too bad as yet - have not needed pain killers. My mouth is very sore too - but have had that a lot with chemo.
I had a choice of Southampton or Guildford - my current Onc is based in Southampton but it would be an hour or so each way - Guildford is probably about 30 minutes away. Sorry you could not be referrred there. Have not got my appointment for planning yet - how big a gap is it between the end of chemo and the start of rads - just wondering whether we will be able to fit a holiday in there somewhere!
Anita
Hi Anita
Glad that your symptoms are not too bad keeping my fingers crossed for you that it continues…I get damn aches pains and stiffness with FEC I am so glad it is my last one on the 29th June…
Regarding rads, when I had my last chemo which was my 5th, they put me in for it then, I got the letter during the week and it actually starts on the 2nd Aug although I have to go for a planning consultation on the 25th July…I know when he told the registrar to sort it out he said about 6weeks from my 5th chemo so it will start about 3 weeks after my last chemo, if that all makes sense…
Yes Guildford would be about 1/2 hour for me too with just parking to find, where as it will be about a three hour journey round trip to London and it will cost me a fortune by tube to london everyday, I am glad its just for 3 weeks, I think I am going to get one of those Oyster card thingies.
anyway I am so glad you seem to be relatively OK I will be so glad when we are all through this, I think we have come a long way since we first came on here, people keep on about it makes you a stronger person, it doesnt it just makes you realise how strong you are…
let me know how you get on
Love as always
Lucy

You may be able to claim some or all of your travelling expenses whilst attending hospital so frequently. I have posted the link to the Macmillan website where they have further information about this.

Hope this is of some help to you.
