Hope you don’t mind this post, but just read a previous comment on “gettin your affairs in order”. I spoke to CAB McMillan advisor about DLA, but was told unable to claim it as i could care for myself and mobility isn’t a problem yet. By the way i have bone mets also in peretineum wall and ovaries (when i had them). Could I ask your situation and how you qualified?

You have been advised wrongly. The Special Rules criteria are that you may be expcted to live less than 6 months (which doesn’t mean you will die in 6 months…but that you could do.) generally anyone with Stage 4 cancer is considered eligible.
My hospice nurse helped me complete the form and my GP signed a special part of it: I think its called 1500). I got DLA for both care components and mobility components (on bad days I have back pain from referred nerve pain form neck tumous).
I’d suggest you talk to your GP.
