Message for Michellegiff Hi Michelle,

I had 3 x taxotere and 3 x epirubicin which finished on 29th december 2006, I then had a lumpectomy of Grade 2 oestrogen receptive tumour and sample node removal on 5th february this year. My results were great no spread and lymph nodes clear and I am oestrogen negative so no need for Herceptin. I started Radiotherapy on 29th march and I am also taking Tamoxifen.

I am really looking forward to my wedding although I cannot lose the weight I put on beacause of the steroids and feel quite frumpy.

My hair is coming back quite good but it is taking its time, like Kylies when she first outed after all her treatment without a scarf.

I bet you are so looking forward to no more chemo, my last one made me feel the worst.

My family are getting gene tested beacause of my age and 2 people in my family dying of ovarian cancer to see if we are genetically more prone to this as I have a younger sister.

Keep in touch and I am sure we shall find a way to swap E-Mails.

Love Sherryll xx

Hi Sherryll Thanks for your story.

Everyone appears to have gained some weight during treatment except for me, I managed to lose weight. Im petite anyhow so dont have any reserve so losing weight was very concerning. Its ok now, quite stable, but I am taking fortesip drinks whilst im undergoing chemo.

My hair is also coming back in, I have about 1 to 2 inches of hair just now. Ive been enquiring about getting hair extensions. Taylor Ferguson do them using a cold fusion system which does not damage your hair like the glued ones do and you hair only has to be about 4 inches to get them. They recommend a Consultation with one of their Specialists before coming to a decision, so hoping to arrange one very soon. Will let you know how I get on.

Sorry to hear about the members of your family who are very poorly. There is concern for my Sister as a result of my diagnoses at a young age. It has been suggested that because my cancer is not hormone sensitive, it may be genetic, but there is no history of Breast Cancer in the family. Were currently waiting for an appointment with Genetics to be tested, to see if we have any of the Breast Cancer Genes. I believe it takes forever though.

I was at the Maggies Centre today and managed to take part in Look Good, Feel Better as there was a cancellation. It was fun and the goodies well… as you know yourself, how fab.

I have registered with the site bcpalsas suggested by one of the girls in your last post. Perhaps you should try register too.

Very much looking forward to my last chemo, very excited.

Will keep in touch.

Take Care of You

Hello Sherryll Hi there Sweetie,

Ive registered with the site too, and today I left a message on the Scottish Forum.

There is a list of forums where you can leave a post. You find this list of forums, somewhere at the bottom of page. When you call up this list, jump to the Regional List where you will find the Scottish section.

Hopefully, you will find my message introducing myself to everyone. If you find it, leave a message for me. I’ll keep checking both this site and the otherone for you.

I had chemo yesterday and now I just have the one more to go, its all very exciting and emotional.

It appears that Im getting the whole of May off before commencing with radiotherapy in early June although this has still to be confirmed.

Hope you are well.

Any problems with finding Scottish Forum on bcpals, do let me know.
