Hi Redpolo,
just back from hospital seen Consultant, He just wanted to see me to say after clinic meeting that they decided I would have a bone scan, they want to see condition of my bones before start on meds, they are thinking of putting me back on Tamoxifen as they think I will be different on it now have been through menopause, I said I would try that again but bit worried about risk of thrombosis as My daughter has recently suffered from one and also my dad has had a a thrombosis and 3 heart attacks and he is only 65. Anyway he said we will wait and have some bloods done first and then decide. He said the bone scan not too bad as they tried to give me MRI year ago but could not handle the tunnel!!! I must have made some fuss cos he remembers that, lol.
Hope everything has gone okay with you hun, let me know how you have got on,
Speak soon,
Love n hugs,

Hi Rowlaine
Great news, they got loads of calcification the second time round and all was benign, I’m walking on air!
Good news about you too, you seem to be coming out the other side of things - just a few things to sort out and, hopefully, you can start to get on with the rest of your life. I do hope the bone scan isn’t too stressful for you; the bone scan I had was not an ordeal, they just xrayed the long bones of my arms and legs. It’s good that they are checking.
Are the aromatase inhibitor drugs not suitable for you, rather than Tamoxifen, now that you’ve been through the menopause (albeit a surgical one)?
Thanks for your support during the last couple of weeks, it really has meant a great deal to me.
Keep well, I will speak to you soon. I can’t email from home at the moment, same problem as you, I need to get onto broadband and haven’t organised it yet - have been using ‘dial up’ through work but they shut it down on 31 July.
Speak to you soon.
Love

Hi Redpolo,
Wonderful news, I am so pleased all the calcifications were benign, it must be a weight off your shoulders, you will be able to breathe again and concentrate and you and having some fun. Absolutely brilliant.
I am not sure why they are suggesting Tamoxifen again? I don’t mind giving it a go but I do want the tests done with haematology regarding blood clots first or I will be a nervous wreck worrying about every twinge. I will feel alot better once I have had bone scan, just a bit apprehensive of it coming near my face.
Had an awful night last night, my daughter sent me a message to get in touch with her partner as she was on way to hospital with baby Amelia, her partner is just out of the army and has started a new job but I didn’t know where with them living so far from me, anyway I rang her and she was in the ambulance and was hysterical, she had given baby some calpol and she had gone blue and started rolling her eyes back, when in the ambulance she had gone floppy and white and blue round her mouth, paramedic had taken her off my daughter and gave her oxygen, she thought she had lost the little one, anyway they got her to hospital and kept her overnight for observation, she had just had her inoculations the day before so hopefully everything okay now but what a dreadful fright.
Anyway to a lighter note, your news was great, well done hun, you deserve it after the turmoil they have let you go through, onwards and upwards!! Go and have little celebration and throw your cares to the wind for a while.
I will keep you posted regarding my bone scan, I’m sure mine will be fine too, just wear and tear I think (at 44, oh !)
Thankyou to you too, support has been lovely, will definately have to keep in touch tho, let each other know how we are getting on.
Take care, speak soon,
lotsa love n hugs,

Hi Rowlaine
So sorry to hear about your grand daughter, it must have been awful for you and for your daughter. I hope everything is improving and she is now back home. Just when you think things have settled down!
I have to admit to doing a little bit of celebrating, still walking on air, can’t quite believe the good news.
Don’t worry about the bone scan, it’s almost the final hurdle for you for a while and at 44 you should have better things to think about! I’m 56 but don’t feel it and don’t want to feel it (although I’ve felt 96 for the last few weeks).
I will keep in touch, organised my wireless broadband for home this morning so will be back on line at home within a week or so.
Take good care of yourself, will speak to you next week.
Lots of love
Redpolo xx
