Just reading Irenes posting.
How our lives change once Dx. do you all think we appreciate life more??
The 2nd Oct was my 46th birthday and Hubby and I’s 25th wedding anniv. We are not into expensive hols abroad. I enjoy this country and all its natural beauty.
Rutland Water, Oakham, Stamford and Ely are such wonderful places.
Its 2 yrs on the 14th Oct since i was diagnosed, that date is my dear mums birthday who passed away 18months before of this awful disease.
So many cards say heres to the next 25 yrs, but i will be so pleased if in Oct 2008 i reach 47.
I too look for milestones.
I was first dx’d on my 30th Wedding Anniversary. On my 31st Wedding anniversary I was in surgery for the 2nd recurrence. I just hope my 32nd will be Chemo free following this latest recurrence.
Last Christmas as I put my Christmas tree away with all the decco’s I quietly hoped to get it out again. Looks very much that I will be!
I love walking and often see elderly couples walking hand in hand, I have always hoped that my husband and I will be together for many years, since dx its a wish with more meaning.
How poignant, lovely. I sincerely hope you both achieve your goals.
Ruth, I visited Ely earlier this yr for the first time. How beautiful it is. And the Cathedral also. I a make stained glass and so loved the stained glass museum. I hope to return myself and spend a few more hours there.
You have strong memories on the date of your aniversary with it being your dear mums birthday too. You seem so together and strong, I hope I can be one day too. Looking forward to our meet.
Hi Liver
You go girl - celebrate everything that’s going! I’m rediscovering all sorts of things that i liked doing a long time ago, especially the walks along the sea. Every day i find that I can walk just that bit further and therefore see something new. Husband has taken up digital photography and is happy to amble along beside me - we used to go for lots of walks pre children and it’s a bit like going back to those early days of our relationship all over again - lovely.
Yes, let’s look forward to our birthdays too. i’m planning one hell of a 50th in 2 years time!
