Okay, so although I can walk I find it incredibly tiring, which makes it difficult to get anywhere. I use public transport and apart from being expensive and unreliable, I have to get to it in the first place.
I am wondering whether or not buying an electic scooter with a seat would be a really stupid idea. Has anyone tried this? If so, any advice please? Have you had any problems taking it on trains or buses?
Im sorry you haven’t had any replies yet. I would think it would be difficult to drive a scooter onto a train or bus, and although they come apart they are heavy so that’s not an option for everyday use. One would, however, be useful for getting to local shops so long as you have somewhere accessible to store it at home. The other option would be to apply for PIP (personal independence payment) which has a mobility component I think (it changed recently from DLA disability living allowance). This might give you extra cash for taxis etc. Also, is there a local disability bus scheme in your area? They offer pick up and drop off to your door but have to be booked in advance.
