More asymmetry following implant exchange

Hi all
I had a bilateral mastectomy in January 2024 with temporary expander implants. I had radiotherapy and the left breast shrank quite a lot. Yesterday I finally had my implant exchange surgery. The surgeon had said that the final size would be somewhere between the left and the right. I was warned they might not be completely the same, but they would get them as close as possible. However at the moment they still look really different, maybe even more so. I’m hoping this could be due to swelling/needing to settle after surgery - just wondered if anyone else has had any similar experiences and can advise? I don’t think I had realised it but I think I had been really holding out for looking better after this surgery and am feeling quite down and disappointed :frowning:

Just seeing if I can bump this up!

Hi
Although my surgery was different to yours as had mastectomy and uplift on opposite side at same time, it all takes a few months to settle down … I was often told that an accurate reflection of how it would eventually look would only come a good few months later… turns out they were right so try not to be too disappointed… sounds like your body is still recovering from its very recent surgery and needs to settle in

Thanks I really appreciate you replying and letting me know your experience. Hopefully it will be the same for me. I think I am seeing small improvements already
