I am now 11 months post surgery and doing well apart from a few side effects from tamoxifen but am speaking to oncologist next week

No need to apologise at all!
I am suprised by how well I have recovered to be honest, I think it helped that I kept myself quite fit at various fitness clasess beforehand.
I have some cording in my armpit from the axilla clearance but tummy and Betty (boob) are healing well.
I am awaiting the appointment to discuss pathology results and next steps but trying not to think too much about that until I know more.
I have decided to go back to work whilst I wait so that I don’t forget how to do my job!
I’m pleased to hear you are recovering well and hope that the side effects you are experiencing are not too debilitating.

Hello again I feel Ishould share.my experience which may help others as it’s not a horror story
After 2 WLE ‘s with no clear margins I went for a mastectomy and diep flap reconstruction
I was pleased with the results even though it was a long surgery 6 hrs and recovery took about6 weeks
Ihave been on tamoxifen for nearly year but found the joint stiffness difficult with pain ful joints
My oncologist suggested stopping for 4 weeks and trying anostrozole for 4 months instead (and having a bone scan to check for osteoporosis) so I am seeing how this goes
I was not recommended for chemo or radiotherapy which I was pleased about
I have been offered nipple reconstruction on the affected breast and have to make a decision about this, I am not a young person so am not sure about this and would welcome anybody else’s experience
