Moving house?

Last week I was diagnosed with IDC. This week they scanned and said at least one lymph node is enlarged and I am waiting for the fna result. I don’t know yet what they will decide about the extent of surgery and treatment.

Today I received an offer on my house.

I desperately want to move, but I don’t know if I am kidding myself that this is possible? I am moving 500km to be near my family, and this might be my last chance to go. I don’t want to lose it.

What do you think? Is this doable?

TIA.

Hi
I took my house back off the market when I got my diagnosis as I didn’t want the hassle of it all while I was going through treatment.

I guess your decision could hinge on a variety of factors: would you have help with packing/moving, what surgery you need, any chemotherapy etc. you would really need to know your treatment plan and rough timescales and would have to be able to agree a completion date with the purchaser which would fit in.

In theory, it’s possible but in practise I would imagine it to be pretty difficult unless you’ve got someone with you who could coordinate most of it for you.

Thank you for your reply Mel. My kids would be able to help, and I would use a decent removal firm who do all the lifting and stuff. I suppose my biggest worry is changing hospitals in the middle of treatment. Do people do that?
I live in an area where selling property can be difficult and ordinarily I would be over the moon with an offer. But right now everything is so up in the air.
