MRI cost before reconstruction-peace of mind

Dear All,

I was wondering if anyone knew the cost of MRI scan.I have had numerous bipsies and am on annual Mammography and would like MRI for peace of mind before I have my lat dorsi reconstruction. I haven’t been offered an MRI.Maybe I’m paranoid… any of your wise advice would be most welcome.I have been told I have ‘busy’ breasts

All my treatment was done privately ( insurance of course I am definately not loaded) and i had an MRI at the start and then one just before my annual mammo, but they were through my breast surgeon , my onc does not think MRI’s should be done routinely, only if there seems to be a problem.

I think if you were to ask to have one in addition to your NHS treatment it could be a little less

Hi Finny
I was in the same place as you about 10 months ago and wanted an mri for peace of mind. My surgeon just kept saying it wasnt necessary. I had my mx and recon and next month is my first year anniversary mammogram. I have been told that they wont check the recon breast so I have arranged to have an ultrasound on that one privately at a cost of £233.I dont think you can put a price on peace of mind.
