Hi. Had mastectomy in June and just finished rads. Had pelvic pain for two months so GP sent me for an ultrasound. Nothing showed up in my pelvis but multiple suspicious areas showed up on my liver. Liver profile blood test normal and no ascites. What the hell???
Have CT scan tomorrow but won’t know anything till end of next week.
If anyone can help me understand this I would be very grateful. Can the blood test be normal but there still be cancer?
What other things could show up as multiple suspicious areas?
If it is mets, it is unusual for it to go straight to liver - thought it went to bones and lungs first.
I still have the pain in my pelvis and constipation and fatigue. Any insights please - I am going out of my head.
am just bumping this up for you. I have an area of suspicion on my liver which so far, none of the experts have been able to diagnose. It is most likely in my case a hermangioma (strawberry birth mark). Its about 2cm. But not confirmed. I’m not worrying about it though as have no nodes involved or vascular invasion.
Try not to worry too much and hopefully someone else will see this and have more info.
Love
Al

Thank you for all your advice. I had a bone scan which is clear. I also have a haemangioma identified previously which is on my records so I am assuming this isn’t what they are referring to. My liver seems to be causing my ribcage to protude more than the other one though…I can’t imagine it being mets but I think I am in denial.
Just when I was getting over the breast cancer nightmare. ]
I am going back to work next week whatever happens.
Love to everyone on here - we are so brave aren’t we!!!xxxxx
I have just been diagnosed with ‘anomalies’ (assumed to be cancerous) on my liver and am having Taxol and Avastin. I had no symptoms at all, but it was picked up on a scan carried out because of a long and colourful bc history. My blood test was normal (in fact, I’ve never had an abnormal one).
I think, as someone else has said to you, that cysts are a possibilty.
I hope someone gets their finger out and gets back to you quickly. Waiting is the pits.
Hi, thanks for posting and making me feel that I am not alone. I am expecting the worst. There is still no diagnosis for the pain in my pelvis which I have 24/7. Someone said could be referred pain from swollen liver but doc says that’s rubbish and gave me stuff for IBS - which I have not got.xx
This happened to me when I was dx in Feb 08. A CT scan was unable to confirm what it was. However I did not have any pain. The onc was never able to say what the suspicious area was. I know how you feel I nearly died when the bcn rang back to cancel at one hours notice my op for lymph node clearance because of this suspicious area. Unfortunately it is always two years later still in the back of my mind that one day things could develop. I hope it is good news for you and nothing sinister.
Hi - I think I am losing it now. I have the MRI on Thursday for liver but don’t know whether it will be the final answer or whether they will need to biopsy. NOW - I have a really worrying skin lesion on my chest above my scar, which I had in June. I finished radiotherapy 3 weeks ago and my skin was red and itchy but it was over the whole area. It wasn’t too bad at all and has now gone - apart from this one spot. It is pink, round and very very itchy -about half inch across. The actual spot doesn’t hurt but the area is tender when I press on it.
What do I do? I have no appointments scheduled, breast nurse will probably say go to GP and the whole referral to dermatologist nightmare starts. I am so down. Sorry to whine - you lot out there are fantastic.

hi,
i have secondary liver cancer and my bloods were clear, it was only found because i was in hospitol with an infection 2 weeks after my lumpectomy and node clearance. they sent me for a ct scan and they told me a week later it had spread to the liver.
please speak to your breast care nurse, mine is lovely and i can ask her anything, and it might save you time going to GP.
good luck all my love laura xx
Thank you Laura. Had MRI last Thursday and not heard a thing. BCN promised to call me when the report was on the system but I won’t hear officially until clinic on Friday. Is no news good news?

Hi Laura. I’m sorry to hear your news. I don’t have liver secondaries but I do have secondaries to the bone. Have you seen this thread? breastcancercare.org.uk/forum/anyone-else-with-liver-secondaries–t10741.html The other posters are really friendly and supportive and there are others posting there with young children. Take Care…x.x.x
