mum diagonsed

Hi just looking for a some help really… My mum (50) got diagnosed through a mammogram a few weeks ago she has since had a lumpectomy to remove a 1.5cm tumor and 5 lymp nodes taken. Results day last week brought bad news it was in 3 of the 5 lymphs and there was a thickening in the tissue that would turn to cancer eventually so now we face chemo and mastectomy plus radiotherapy and hormone tabs for 5 years as its a hormone type of cancer… Just wondered if any one has similar stories as im not coping great and could do with some hope! Also not sure of staging…

Thanks

hi hun
i had mamogram, 2 lumps and 1 under arm and some calcification so had mastectomy 2 weeks ago. i am due for my results tomorrow but do know i am having chemo and radio in the new year.
i will let you know what my results etc are so you can compare?

i am feeling ok, my husband is worse than me!! i have 3 young children and i am only 39. the prognosis is good these days, and they can do so much.

My husband’s aunty had it 8 years ago (52), mastectomy, grade 2 and in lymph nodes. she is fine and helping me through this.
there is support and tell her to come on this forum for a rant, talk, whinge, whatever…
take care
