Music n Chemo'

Now I have finished my chemo (see earlier post 2day) n am feelin good but before I say goodbye to this lovely gang (and tentatively try to join the Rads gang) i just wanted to say that my MP3 has been my best mate this last 5 months as I lay like a sack of tatties on the couch with my puce (sp?!) face and full-on frown. In fact tapping my toes has been the only excercise I have had in months! I am going to give 3 tracks that do it for me !

  1. Black, ‘Wonderful Life’, because despite all, it still is
  2. The Go!Team, ‘Feelgood by Numbers’, jolly little ditty that gets me up of my backside every time
  3. Caravan, ‘Nine feet Underground’, released in 1971 (yes I am that old) lasts 22 mins but loved it then and love it now

What do u suggest for coming wks of Rads ???

Good luck to all of you, much love Anouch XXXXX (((((((o)))))))))

Dear Anouch

New to the the forum, but this is a great idea for a thread, so must post!

My top picks would be

  1. Dandy Warhols, “Bohemian Like You” - it gets me gyrating around the flat to all those “woo-hoos” every time
  2. Kate Bush, “Wuthering Heights” - oh, I wish I was batty Kate and didn’t make such a ridiculous hash of that dance
  3. Anything by the Cocteau Twins… swoony, ethereal vocals that make me want to sway around in a happy trance

Oh and one to miss is anything by the Chemical Brothers - because of the name! Might feel differently once chemo is over!

Wishing you all the very best with the rads.

Hiya

I find Midlake “Head Home” a pretty good one!

And anything upbeat, The Smiths are always good to make a light situation out of a bad one, whatever people say about Morrissey, I think he’s hilarious!

Hey Nicola & Cecelia, good choices, downloaded ‘Bohemian Like You’, I had forgotten how good that song is. As for Kate Bush, my sis and I once did a Karaoke duet with her song ‘Running Up the Hill’ , being Scottish, the lyric bit that says ‘no problem’ came out as ‘nae problem’, not quite aka the divine Kate!!! Cecelia, I LOVE Morrisey too despite him being such a prat!!! C’mon ladies, what music helps you through all of this???

I love listening to Alanis Morisette “Jagged Little Pill” Hand in pocket. I love the lyrics “I have one hand in my pocket and the other is throwing a V sign” Have sang out loud on many of my walks!!!
