mvp or vinorelbine?
mvp or vinorelbine? Hi
I’m about to start my 4th line chemo ( after FEC, taxotere and capecitabine) and have been offered the choice of MVP combination or vinorelbine as a single agent. My local hospital suggests one and my second opinion hospital suggests the other.
Has anyone had MCP?
MVP Hi Seascape,
I have had FEC, Tax and capcitabine and I have just completed MVP chemo about 5 weeks ago. With MVP it was a longer infusion and meant a stay overnight in hospital once every 3 weeks, but I felt that was positive as you could lie down and be comfortable rather than sitting in a day ward all day long. The side effects for me personally was stomach pain from the V (Vinblastin) and they had to reduce the dose because of it. I was quite fatigued for the first week or so but that picked up and also I didnt loose my hair, it just thinned thats all.
I have to say that so far the results have been good from MVP and measured by cancer markers they dropped to almost normal again. So its a strong chemo but it has done the trick so far, I found it much easier than FEC and Tax thats for sure,
Everyone is different and its a hard choice to make.
I wish you the best with whatever you decide
Lara xx
