Hi zsazsa

I have pains in my arm following lymph removal. Exercise does help, when I forget the aches remind me. You should also exercise to help prevent lymphedema.
A nuisance isn’t it.

HI Zsazsa

I had lymph nodes out and LD recon in Sept 06, and I find I still have to do some excercises each day otherwise my shoulder feels like its seizing up.

My arm doesn’t feel the same as before, but I have got used to it now, and have learned to live with it.

Keep excercising!

I had surgery in 2005 and my elbow is quite painful, gets much worse if I use the arm a lot. i.e. driving. I saw the GP a couple of months ago and he sent me for x-ray but nothing showed up, so I think it is just from the surgery.

Thank you all for answering me! i feel better knowing others have it too.

will keep doing the exercises!!

I had WLE with node sampling in January and following the surgery I had a very painful elbow. I also had a weird stingy pain/numbness in my upper arm. The surgeon had warned me about a numbness if he had to do node clearance but thought he had managed to avoid any nerve damage during surgery … he can only conclude that he must have tweaked the nerve. I also had some fairly impressive chording after surgery and spent a week with the physio to sort that out in time for my rads planning… that woman was amazing.

Now I still get aches in my arm but it’s a sort of ‘only sore if you poke it’ pain … so I just tend not to poke it. It is a sense of amusement in my office if I forget and lean my elbow on the desk!

I found my inner elbow ached, I think that must be where the lymph comes through. It stopped if I stopped carrying heavy bags on that side, which you aren’t meant to do in case you get lymphoedema

Since then, not a problem
