Emla numbing cream is your friend here! I put it on 40mins before the injection under a dressing and I don’t feel anything at all.
Thankyou, yes I will have to check I can use it and know where to put it. Will definitely look into it!
Hopefully it works for you. I put on huge blob (almost a whole tube) and don’t rub it in. Just apply a tegaderm dressing on top of the blob and let it work its magic. Good luck!
Thankyou
Sorry I just read this. Did you manage to work on Zoladex? I am not sure whether I will have it
Hey, I work full time and have zoladex. It pretty much just brings on the menopause but think we talked about this in another thread I work as a postie so am on my feet all day, this may have helped me. I pretty much worked through chemo too though! Taking a few days off after each session and then light duties on my return. The zometa knocked me out for a day, 2 days after having it but was fine again on the third day! Pretty weird really. I did have an inflamed eye, which apparently is a very rare side effect to the abemaciclib and zometa. GP made me go to a 24hr eye hospital, was all very scary but it’s something they’ve seen before, normally after a virus and your immune system starts attacking the good cells. I have drops and am still using them as prescribed (was only last week this happened). Eye seems normal now but will go back in a few weeks so they can check it.
Thanks so much for replying. It’s great to hear you managed to keep on working. Especially given how physical your job is. I am a teacher 3 days a week ( but still quite full on) and have two children ( 6 and 8). I appreciate everyone is different but I find your post really reassuring. Amazing that you managed to work during chemo.
I worked on my own a lot which helped. Have been working with other people the last few weeks and am really tired now but don’t think that’s unusual for me! Good luck in your journey x
