This is my experience this week, it hasn’t been all bad if it reassures others about to start.
First 2 days after were ok, bit tired on the 2nd day and a bit achey but manageable
Day 3 very achey, tired
Day 4 started to develop allergic reaction (don’t know what to) which affected my vulva area and anal area - Dr gave me some anti histamines and cream, but by day 5 I was so sore I couldn’t sit down except with an ice brick between my legs
Day 6 started to get tummy gripes, and every time I ate something I had to run to the loo
Day 7 - soreness and tummy ached increased, my Dr made me an appointment to see a gyneacologist as she was concerned about the inflammation and soreness
Day 8 - felt awful, diarreah (sorry spelling), tummy pains
Day 9 - feeling much better apart from the allergic reaction so hopefully the worst stage has passed now
On the good side I didn’t have any sickness and the nausea was manageable, I ate little and often.
The allergic reaction is likely to persist following each chemo session so I am told, this I am dreading as it has definitely been the worst side effect. Has anyone else had such a bad reaction like this? I’ve had more doctors peering up my bits this week than ever before, even during pregnancy. In France there is a saying which means bad “oohh la la” that is how they’ve described my “bits”.
If I can get through it I know anyone can.
