my friend

Hello Ladies,
I wonder if at all you could help me in a question I have. I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago. IDC - er+ PR- her2+. 3cm tumor. 6 lymph nodes.
Mastectome and full ancillary clearance and thought I was pretty well up on this Breast Cancer.
My poor friend came to me before xmas with a large lump in her right breast and obviously told her to go straight to GP. which she did. Within a week she was transferred to Breast Clinic. She had mammogram ultrasound and fna.
Well as you Ladies all know she has been in limbo since because of the xmas break - clinic shut down etc because of the hols i accompanied her yesterday later afternoon appt. I thought here goes, tried to keep her spirits up as you do we went in for results and was told Mammogram clear. Ultrasound clear. Fna showed c3. So they are going to excise the lump. What does c3 mean???
Can any of you Ladeis pls help me answer her question.
The doc said they basically they just want to chk the tissue as all other results showed everything great but just need to be on the safe side.
Thanks Ladies I am sure one of you will be able to help.
Thankyou
Tracey

My friend as previously stated is to actually go into hospital as a day stay patient tomorrow (Thurs). Goodness me that was quick. They telephoned her yesterday. Obviously that has made her more anxious as you can imagine.
She is under my Consultant, she has also asked if I would go along with her to ask questions but I still don’t know what C3 is never mind I will ask tomorrow!!
Thay are going to excise the lump and test the tissue. Better to be on the safe side I keep telling her.
Kind regards
Tracey

hi tracey, these are what the results mean c-1 inaequate sample c-2 benign c-3 probably benign c-4 suspicious of malignancy c-5 malignant.hope this helps.x

I had a C3 result, but sadly it did turn out to be breast cancer, after the lump was removed (excised as they call it) It’s the luck of the draw. When mine was finally removed, I had low grade breast cancer which is the least aggressive form so maybe that was why I got a C3 result as the cells were not very abnormal compared with other breast tissue.
