My hair has a sense of humour!

I can’t decide if my hair’s got a sense of humour or is getting its own back for being attacked by poisons.

Of course there were surprises while I was losing it… No one warned me that in the LG area, the bikini line would be the last to go, or that while I wouldn’t need to touch my armpits for months, my legs would need regular shaving throughout.

No, it’s now it’s growing back that the quirks are really apparent… One eyebrow thicker than the other, which also has a gap in the middle of it, why? My lower eylashes are returning well and evenly, but my upper ones are still sparse, uneven and straggly, why?! The bikini line returning first almost made sense…

But the absolute icing on the cake? - The hair on my head is much fluffier and greyer than it was, but the LG is darker, thicker and much more luxuriant than it ever was before!

Still, at least it’s back!

You say that.
My downstairs carpet is very different to the downstairs carpet I had in my old house!

Maybe best to just have floorboards lol lol

x

DJ007, you have really cheered me up (or is it your hair that’s doing the cheering), laughed out loud, thank you for making my night!!xx

Hmm…

Floorboards - easy to keep clean, don’t harbour fleas and much classier than cheap laminates. But are we really talking about the same subject?!

Dx

I know what u mean!Problem is I’m getting so blind I have to use a magnifying glass to see the white and black wiry hairs on my face- and they can be anywhere - cheeks included! Hair on my head is quite thick - but no fringe- and it can’t decide what colour it is- kind of patchwork I think.Haven’t checked the lg - why would I lol!
PS - I’ve got te cheap lamimates and with my family you would understand,
Margaret x x x

My downstairs carpet has disappeared - just my like my upstairs carpet.
What will they be like when they return, I wonder?
I have an inkling my eyebrows may be coming back a bit.

I’ve got someone else’s hair! Sorry and all that. MY head hair has always been exceedingly straight but now … it’s very wavy, like the sea. Down below has been swapped too - whoever heard of straight pubes? Not that I’m complaining you understand, there’s lots of it which is good. I’m just confused.

Ignore the photo - it’s moved on since then and the grey and waves have developed.

I’ve got someone’s hair that is much older than me. I wasn’t grey before.

The eyebrows came good in the past week - prior to that they were white (WHITE? WTF?!) and sparse. They’ve suddenly got some real colour in them, needed a severe prune and need hardly any brow pencil now.
Lashes improving but still stumpy.

Will the real owner of my grey hair please stand up? Even if s/he is Slim Shady.

This lot has made me laugh  Thanks for the giggle.
I too have weird hair! My lady garden has grown back in FULL force, as has leg hair.

My head hair has come back mousy brown? My natural colour is dark brown. It also seems thicker than before, a lot thicker.
Its very soft now - everyone seems to want to stroke my head! Even my oncologist stroked my head (female btw).

Eyelashes are stumpy, eyebrows come back well but one patch of no hair which looks a bit odd, don’t know why that bit is bald!

I have to say you’ve all really made me laugh. You had me tittering right through my shower! Thanks, it’s a tonic. My own hair blinked at the daylight and didn’t have a clue which way to go. It’s still thinking about it, months afterwards. And it’s also wavy. As long as it’s not waving goodbye, that’s fine! Ami xx

It’s so difficult to see what’s REALLY happening on my head… the hair lady at thechemo suite this morning took a look under my wig and said I had hair coming back in four different colours! Maybe the Tabby look is IN??? Most peculiar… all of it… yes, I’ve one eyebrow more evident than the other… lashes still need a magnifying glass to see… no, wait, it’s ME that need the magnifying glass! Great thread… or is that my downstairs?! Jane

Oh how you have made me smile, a great big thankyou. My Lady Garden came back and some, but three years on, no eyebrows (had some tattooed in the end!), no underarm hair, very sparse eyelashes, leg hair, and worse of all very thin, fine regrowth on my head. So, I have what hair I’ve got cut short and streaked red, but I do get fed up with being asked, ‘is your hair coming or going?’
LOL

The LG and legs tho, blimey!!! thought having legs waxed was meant to last ages, but only had them waxed last week and now needs doing again!!!My LG too growing like wildfire, why does it grow there so fast, why cant the leg and LG club together and go on my head!!! Wearing LOla my wig to work and everyone says how like my “normal” hair it is!!! last year I was MOrticia for Halloween with my real hair (minus the white streaks) but this year cant do that but Lola good subsitute!!!

I went to get my first pedicure since diagnosis today.
My “hooves” were really disgusting and dry skinned, flaky etc.
Nice new shiny feet now, little cinderella numbers now instead of big fat ugly sister hobbit feet

Had to tell the lady about the cancer stuff due to 2 big toe nails still having some black in them and on account of how revolting they look. Apparently she’s had waaaaaaay worse than mine, in her mind mine weren’t bad! I shudder to think and I said “well at least with mine you know it’s beause of chemo and NOT because I’m manky”

She asked about my hair and what it’s naturally like and was totally confused as to why it’s mousy coloured now and had to explain about how it can come back diff colour/style/texture etc. Very fascinated.

I can’t wait til I don’t have to say anything about any of it and I can just choose to go somewhere and be pampered !
So nice that one of my friends has given me some money so I can go and treat myself.
Couldn’t have an eyelash dye though as she didn’t want to risk it, fair enough.

Want to go and book myself into somewhere for a nice shoulder/back/neck massage!

The hair on my undercarriage was the first to fall out. Had no hair on my body whatsoever for about 16 months. I had strange eyebrows and eyelashes as well - the inner part of my eyebrow stayed which was fortunate as it made it easy to pencil the rest in. On my left eye I retained 3 or 4 very long eyelashes in the other corner, but had none at all on the other eye. Weird.

My nasal hair was the first to go and it’s still not right so I retain the immensely-attractive drippy nose.
Nice.

Not.

I had FEC-T, finishing on May 4th and lost every last bit of body hair.

Everything’s sprouting now but with varying degrees of success…

Head - was very thick, curly and waist length in January. Now very slow growing, thin, very fine and whispy but at least still mostly dark brown (apart from the peculiar colourless hairs that grew first) and now curling, although too short to be really curly yet.

Legs and arms - lost along with hair and grew back early on.

Nasal hair - lost on Tax and has grown back as normal (I think - I don’t inspect the inside of my nostrils very often as a rule…)

Underarm - lost along with hair, now growing slowly on non-BC side and very slowly indeed on BC side.

Eyebrows & eyelashes - lasted through FEC, lost on Tax. Grew back quickly but eyebrows are thin and eyelashes are shorter than before.

Lady garden - lost along with hair and has grown back to luxuriant proportions, but before was curly and now is most definitely an awful lot straighter - most peculiar!

So, all in all not too bad and definitely liveable, but like Shar I really wish the leg hair had been harder hit!

Jane xxx

Good to know that it’s not just my hair that’s having a laugh!

I think the hair on the nape of my neck is starting to grow.

I’m only 3 1/2 months post chemo, but looking very longingly at the semi-permanent dye sitting in the bathroom cupboard! I’m tempted to have a go this weekend - maybe leaving it on for less time than I normally do.

Any thoughts?
Dx

I left mine till the full six months but if my friend who was over from Aus hadn’t said it I would have just left it! I got GREY curly hair! Pre treatment was blonde (fake) actually brown so I hated the grey and shaved it off myself! It has grown so ,so slowly think it’s 'cos of the tablets Arimidex and Herceptin.
It is now a sort of light brown mix, thick as hell and yep curly!!! So had it cut 1st one!! coloured and doesn’t look bad but so short!!! Ah well we seem to go with it so good luck on the colour thing (by the way used a temp 24 washes still in after 3 months and the grey?? GONE!) have little on side but all looks natural so will do more permanant one for xmas! DX you should be right on the money for xmas you go girl! As for the rest hmmmm!!! yep you are all right LG very healthy and legs arrggghhh!!! what a pain got to do that but underarm very few so am leaving well alone for now!
