I just needed to share this - I finished 6xFEC on 30th June and my hair has just decided to start coming back, I have been scrutinising myself on a daily basis (several times a day to be precise) and boring my boyfriend rigid with moans of “i want hair, I am sick of being bald, my wig’s annoying me today” and now it is finally happening. It is just bumfluff at the moment but as soon as there is an even coverage I am ditching the headgear every opportunity I get. I have already been told by a much younger male friend that I look like Natalie Portman in “V for Vendetta” since I’ve had chemo and I took it as a compliment and allowed it to give my ego a little lift. I hope this means I will have a short crop by the time we go on hols on 20th sept but will stock up on factor 60 in any case.
Hi clarabel
Finished all my treatment of the 7th July. 4 FEC, 8 Tax then 4 weeks of rads. I have quiet a lot of hair now but so many different colours ( grey, white & brown) dont think i will be going without a head scarf until i can colour it.
The biggest thing for me was when my eyebrows and eyelashes came back. Show people contantley and make my husband look at them all the time LOL
I also shaved the fluffy stuff off and it started to grow back thicker
Take care
Lynnex
Where are you going on holiday ?Somewhere nice & hot!!!
Hi Lynne
I was thinking of shaving the fluff I will see how it goes - my hair used to grow very quick
my eyebrows are on their way too, they were the first to start growing back
We are just going to Fuerteventura in Sept but also going to Cuba in december, I just can’t wait
Glad to hear you have finished your treatment, must be a great feeling :0)

Hi ladies - thought i’d ask, i finshed chemo on 26th July and my hair is STILL falling out (only have about a third maybe a quarter left in a short style anyway) and wondered how long this goes on for??! Its not dramatic but always lots on my pillow in the morning and hesitant to shave it as the quarter i have left is about 2 inches long and i don’t want to cut it off when i have finished!! kept most of it until the 4th one (had 6 in total) but cut it short right at the beginning but i SO want to be able to see it grow!!

Hi Mel
I shaved my head to grade zero and was still losing stubble 3 weeks after my final chemo (that was last week) and I have a friend who experienced the same.
Hi Mel
Like Clarabel i to shaved my hair a soon as it started to fall out. My hair started to grow back while i was having FEC but as soon as i started TAX it feel out again along with my eyelashes and eyebrows.
I have now finished treatment and have about 2inch of hair and all my eyebrows and eyelashes. When it does start to grow back it comes in very quickley EVERYWHERE LOL
Take care
Lynnex
I didn’t mind being hairless during chemo but now I am a month clear of it I am getting impatient
I wish I could be selective and say I only want it back above the nose, LOL
Oh great - hairy armpits again!! God can we shave our armpits whilst having radiotherapy?? I start tomorrow and shall i wear a bra or am i not allowed to wear bras from now on??
Hi Lolabelle
I have been told no shaving under the treated armpit during rads BUT the hair probably won’t grow back under that armpit til after rads are finished. I was told only to use mild soap for bathing the treated area and NO underarm deodrant, and only aquaeous cream or E45 on the treated area, nothing fragranced. I was advised not to wear underwire bras but told it was OK to wear those non-wired support bras they sell in M&S, which I actually wore after my surgery and they were fine although not as sexy as my usual bra choice.
