My onc told me chemo benefit reduces 60 days after surgery

Has anyone else been told this information?

Hi Butterfly,
My onc told me it needed to be done fairly soon after surgery to have any real benefit. The onc didn’t define what fairly soon was. I did a post on one of the to chemo or not to chemo re if borderline type chains since I was informed about quite a bit of info much later on.
Do you mind my asking why? If it’s on your mind may be worth asking your onc?

I’ve read that as well. I’m going to a group chemotherapy talk on Monday so I’ll ask if that is the case and then I’ll let you know what answer I was given. There is just so much to take in and often it is the questions that you didn’t ask because your mind is jumping around all over the place and it can be difficult to focus when bombarded with leaflets.

I have concerns over this too. The guidelines do say 60 days My query is what if you have three lots of surgery like me. Is it 60 days from the first surgery? Coz i am outside that. My onc kept saying it was fine but she just seems to lie to me anyway.
