Hi Pinkie,
I’m sorry I’m not going to be much help on this one, but just wanted to wish you and your mother well and to let you know that you have come to the right place, the ladies on this site are amazing people, and I’m sure someone will come on soon with some sound advice.
Your mum has done the right thing by getting it seen to and at least she is being referred. The waiting and not knowing whats happening is the hardest part to overcome, I’m sure everyone will agree. You do play all sorts of mind games with yourself and its easy for people to brush things (like your emotions) under the carpet and tell you to pull yourself together, much easier said than done. On this site we are all pretty much in the same boat and can completely empathise with what you and your mother are going through.
I have a lump in my right breast (not painful) and my left breast is leaking slightly and at times does itch. I’ve been to the hospital and had a core biopsy just under 2 weeks ago on the lump, results day is Tuesday. They did scan the left leaky breast but nothing was said, and I forgot to ask!! derr…
It will probably help your mum if you go along with her to her appointment, you feel like your floating on air at times and any questions you have go completely out of the window, so it might help her if she has someone there to take everything in. I took my mum with me this time (lump no.2) and I’m glad I did.
Take care, and keep us posted with how she is!
Lots of love

Hello Pinkie,
Just want to say the same as Heidi, really. This is a great place to come for support and I’m sure there will be someone who has the same symptoms as your Mum. It’s only natural to worry and everyone here has been through it at some stage.
Would your Mum feel comfortable about coming onto the forum and introducing herself? Whether she would or not, you and your Mum are both very welcome and we’ll help as much as we can.
Love,
beano x

Hi Pinkie,
Im really sorry that you and your mum are going through such a bad time at the moment.
My sister has always had inverted nipples and has had lots of infections, sometimes this does cause her to itch and have pain, however, its never been anything more sinister in her case. Why dont you try ringing the help line on the website and speaking to somebody as they are very well placed to offer advice, and talking to somebody might help you both to feel better.
Take care

Hi Pauline
i to have inverted nipples which i have had all my life and have had infections never really any pain in the breast but itching. im really hoping that the doc is been over cautious, and that it is just an infection. i thought about ringing the advice line but i will probably end up crying on them. think i will have a word with my mum in the morning see what she wants to do. thanx

Hi Pinkie
Sorry to hear about your mum. I do hope you are both holding up and staying as strong as you can. YOu will meet some lovely people on here that will help you and your mum through this, and any questions or advice you want, just ask.
I would definitely say go with your mum to her appointment, as the brain does tend to switch off in these circumstances and it may be better to have to sets of ears, rather than one.
Take care of yourself and your mum
Love
Dawn
