this is my second lump i’ve found, the first one was tested by nothing abnormal about it, but it was a lot smaller than the one i have now, this one makes my breast look larger than my other one, my breast can also be painful just by walking down the stairs, not yet been to doctors because i’m worried he’ll say its nothing to worry about again,
i dont know exactly what sort of lump i should be looking for, could anyone advise me on how their breast felt or more importantly what changes did they see
Hi Longhurst,
Don’t delay action just because the first lump was ‘nothing’. I don’t think any of us can advise you what to look for exactly or what changes we say - it is enough that you have noticed something that is not normal for you. If it is your GP you are going to then I would ask to have it checked out properly to be sure. Some say that if it is bc there is no pain - not true!! I do hope it is nothing - but your anxiety is not going to leave you while you do nothing.
Dawnhc
thank you for your advice, i will make appointment for monday, get it checked
Hi,
I would definitely check it out. I have had several lumps over the years, cysts and fibroadenomas, and the docs have told me to always get each new one checked out and not to just assume it’s benign because the others have been.
Hope you will get good news but please do get it checked as soon as you can,
Nanny
I found a large lump last weekend in my right breast, it was very painful and you could actually see the swelling. Two of my aunts on my mums side of the family have had breast cancer so I thought it best to see the doctor straightaway. I presumed they would say it was a cysyt or something as it appeared so quickly but he immediately booked me in for a mammogram and biopsy which I’m having in 2 weeks. The large swelling has gone down now and the pain has more or less gone but Im left with a small hard lump and slight swelling, I’ve also got some brown/blackish discharge from my nipple if it’s squeezed gently and the breast feels slightly lumpy. Has anyone else had this sort of experience where it’s gone from a large lump and then shrinking? I feel very worried about it but part of me thinking if it’s disappearing it must be ok and maybe I just had some type of infection?
Hi
I agree with Dawn above, get it checked out. My lump was cancer and it actually hurt when I had my mammo, better to be safe than sorry.
Take care

Hi Longhurst,
Just to second what everyone else has said really. I just had my 2nd lump biopsied a few weeks ago, and thankfully, it was another fibroadenoma (or similar as the cons said!!)
Please dont just assume its nothing, and your GP wouldn’t be doing their job right by not referring you to a specialist. Hopefully it is nothing, but its much better to be safe than sorry!
