Hi everyone,
Late last year I was diagnosed with a 2cm Fibroadenoma. I saw the doctor who then referred me to a ‘specialist’ who was very rude. Infact he walked into the room, told me the name of what I have without taking a seat or discussing an options and left without a ‘Goodbye’. I felt lost and didnt know what to do then.
A few months later, the pain started getting worse, I felt the lump was growing so I went back to see the doctor who once again referred me to a ‘speacialist’ at a different hospital. Although she discussed the options with me, she was very forceful of her opinions repeatedly advising me to take no futher option and to leave it the way it is. As she said there would be more negatives that positives if I was to go with it.
Almost a year later of being first diagnosed with a Fibroadenoma, I feel the pain is unbearable 2 weeks prior to the start of my period. So basically I have really bad pain for a full 2 weeks every month. I was considering removing it but I have no one who will hear me out or understand my pain. I guess i need help with the following:
-
Are the negatives of removing a Fibroadenoma really that bad?
-
Should it be this painful? (I mean to the extent where it gets really depressing and I cant even walk up and down the stairs without holding ‘them’)
-
Will it change the size or shape of my breast at all?
-
Will they test it for cancer? (Im scared of it being misdiagnosed and the doctor I spoke to told me I was too young for them to give me the chance of testing it for cancer).
Thank you, All the help really will be much appreciated.
