Hi.I was diagnosed with bc on April 21st and had a wle and snb on May 3rd. I was injected with the blue dye and as far as I could tell it was successful. Nothing was said to me on the day of the op, so I came home same day and feel as if I am recovering well. I went for my results today and found out that I had a 12mm lobular grade 2 removed with clear margins BUT the blue dye did not work and no lymph nodes were found in the tissue that was removed. Now I have to have another op on June 7th to remove level one nodes and will probably have to stay in overnight and come home with a drain.
I feel totally fed up now, had geared myself up for results and having a treatment plan in place, but will be in limbo again for the next five weeks having to wait again after op for results. How do other ladies manage to get through this horrible waiting game?

Hi
this is the hard part for me. i had the same op and the dye did work and there was a trace found in one of my lympth nodes so i have had a full clearance of the lympth nodes but have recovered quickly from both ops. I am back on 23rd to find out the next step, the chemo scares me a lot, i am told i am “borderline” chemo. one day i feel positive and the next feel very down.

Bumping this up. I got through the waiting by keeping occupied. Went mad cleaning under beds and that sort of thing. When I’d done that I spent hours looking up healthy food recipes and preparing stuff for me to eat that I thought I might fancy later when on chemo, such as a healthy carrot cake that I cut into squares and froze. Shopped on line for exotic engredients for asian style food to keep my interested and healthy. I paint so also occupied myself making canvases ans starting 3 new paintings.
Keep occupied so your brain has something else to think about.

What worries me is what if they don’t find any nodes this time. The surgeon yesterday said that they can be very hard to locate, and as they are going to go through the same incision as before, how are they going to find them? Oh well suppose it’s another thing to dwell on! Good idea about keeping busy, might finish the scrapbook from last years holiday that I never seem to find time for.
