hi there girls…Believe me Lizzie I really know what you mean about wanting the surgery to ‘happen’ now! I was 5 weeks from diagnosis to op…and I was soooooo…ready for it. It’s because it’s the next step, and you can’t think of steps after that until the one your on is complete!! mmmmm not very succinct!! Still you know what I mean!
Let us know when you get your date for surgery!!
This site is really interesting isn’t it. I see you also found the thread that talks about people saying the ‘wrong’ things…I find some of them sooo funny!!! I’ve earmarked it so I can go back and have a titter every now and then! Laughing is good for the soul…and sometimes you have to ‘find’ things to laugh at!! It’s what keeps me going!!!
As for the bike riding…ah ah…no chance…not in these hills. If I ride a bike …and I haven’t for donkeys years…it has to be flat, no traffic and preferably not on a road…so you see not a good hobby for me!!! But wey to go you!!!
The weather is gorgeous at the mo…so walked on to the end of our road and sat on the bench to look over the valley and ponder… well for all of five minutes. Then along came a car…blasted its horn at me and I jumped 7feet off the ground…well slight exageration…why would they do that?! I don’t know!!

Hope your feeling upbeat and are having some quality days! I’m going to go outside and walk up and down the drive now…excercise…well its not major stuff…but you’ve got to start somewhere and its near a sofa if I need one!!

What a fab weekend! Bit colder this morning though, roll on summer!
Hope you are feeling on the mend, and getting lots of TLC. Keep thinking my op is THIS Thursday, then remembering no - next week! Seems an absolute AGE! Have to up to hospital today to redo my MRSA pre op swabs. Asked if there was a problem with the first ones - they said no, but they would be out of date due to the postponed op. I asked - “How long do they last?” - 6 weeks was told - so said I though they would still be OK. Turns out, because I actually got as far as the ward before the op was cancelled - they have to make sure I didn’t CATCH any bugs from the ward! - Reassuring - “ish”!
May well keep up with and join in the Storm riders - certainly enjoy reading it! - Some of the ladies on there have really been through the mill - but the sense of humour is FAB!

Hi Lizzie nice to see you on the ‘Stormriders’ thread…glad you joined us. Its the humour that keeps me going, as well as the more serious side of it all. The girls on there have offered lots of good advice and information…and continue to do so!
Thats quite funny about the MRSA bit…because when I went to have my pre-op…things done again…she said I didn’t need the MRSA done, because it lasts 3mths!! So sounds to me like they were being very cautious! Better that though, than not!
