New lump under WLE scar during chemo

Hi girls.
Freaking out quite a bit. I just got back from my radiotherapy appointment and there is another lump under my wle scar and they are concerned and say I need another biopsy, I now have to wait for an appointment and I’m scared that it has grown back! If this is even possible whilst still doing chemo???
Im really hoping its a cyst or scar tissue but am scared as they did not even mention this might be the case.
Has this happened to anyone else? :frowning:

Hi JosieJo

It hasn’t happened to me personally, but I know of at least three ladies who have had lumps near mx/wle scars - all have turned out to be fatty/scar tissue.

Good luck
Dx

Thank you D. That is reassuring to know x

Hi JosieJo this happened to me, during my chemo i found a lump where my op was/under my scar, I got myself in a state too over it so my consultant checked it out for me before i went in for my chemo as I was there in hospital. An ultra sound confirmed that it was a sack of fluid where the tumour was removed and very common apparently and will eventually turn into tissue, nearly 2 months on the lump is not so noticeable. But if in doubt get it checked out at clinic.
hope this helps, big hugs xx

Thank you niknak. I shall ring the hospital tomorrow to chase them up for a quick appointment. Hopefully mine will turn out to be that too. X

Great stuff JosieJo, am sure it will be that, try not to worry, let us know xx

Hi Josie,
This is a bit strange as I have a lump in my arm pit which I have just noticed and I am worried about. Am planning to mention it tomorrow at my appointment, but mine is large, so I have been telling myself it must be scar tissue. I do keep having the occasional panic though.
I have had a couple of ‘scares’ since my diagnosis- the first, was when an area lit up on an ultrasound of my WLE- It was all lumpy and just after I had finished chemo. I had a biopsy which came back as ‘fat necrosis.’ I remember only too well that I was terrified. Your mind will be racing and you will be fearing the worst, but try to remember that our medical teams will be extremely vigilant and careful, checking everything unusual.
Sending you big hugs and lots of love, Rattles x

Hi JosieJo
I found a new lump just below my mastectomy scar after my 5th chemo. I got an appointment at the clinic on the day of my last chemo. I had a biopsy following the ultrasound report and panicked, remembering the initial tests and diagnosis. The doctor removed the lump during the appointment and sent it for analysis. It turned out to be a sebacious cyst. The area below the scar is also lumpy and can be quite painful but my check-up doctor is very reassuring that it’s just fatty tissue.
So, don’t panic, it’s probably a cyst or scar tissue from the surgery.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you. Best wishes with the results.
X
