new on site and needing some advice

Thank goodness I found this site. As you can see I have just started hormones as Xeloda stopped working after about 18 months. The tumor has now doubled in size and at the weekend I ended up in A&E with severe pain in my shoulder & right side. Cutting a long story short they said I had had a bleed to my liver caused by the tumour. Seen by oncology today and I thought they would change me on chemo if things that bad, but no I have to wait another 3 weeks and take pain meds. Should i be worried or has anyone every had pain like this and does it mean my liver is in a bad way? I would appreciate any help as I do not know were else to turn. I didnt see a Dr today only the Nurse and she was no help.

Hi Positive,

All I can say is in the morning get on the phone and ring and keep pestering them until you at least talk to a doctor or get an appointment moved up. For your own peace of mind you need answers (it’s the not knowing that hurts).

Hi Positive

I would agree with Kiwi if you don’t phone you will be worried sick, you need your condition properly explained by your onc and would insist on an meeting asap - if only to put your mind at rest.

Hi there

No way is that good enough - you ended up in A and E and you havent even seen an oncologist doctor…definitely make a nuisance of yourself on this as you will not have any peace of mind for next three weeks.

take care
