Hi Everyone,
I’ve gone and done it!!..I’ve bought an 8 week old Yorkshire terrier puppy!! he arrived yesterday and is so tiny and cute. I’ve named him Denzil and he’s settling in nicely, boy will he be spoilt!
I was in two minds as to whether to get another pet after my silver tabby cat died 2 days after I was diagnosed last August as I missed her so much, but then I thought after what has been a rotten year I deserved a bit of happiness - as we all do.
I only wish we could post photos on here so you could all see him.
Love and best wishes,
Tracy xx
Tracy - haven’t spoken to you before but just saw your thread and had to reply. I have just bought 10 week old labrador pup - Ralph - it’s the best decision I’ve made in a long time. He’s so much fun and has brought some much needed happiness into our house. I was only dx last week and I’m sure little Ralph is going to help me through the days ahead. Hope you have lots of fun and cuddles with Denzil. Know what you mean about spoiling, Ralph’s even got his own toy box!!
Also, I presume 1961 is your brith year ? well if so it’s mine too!!! -also called tracey - also got a puppy - also go BC !!!

Aww well done. My cat also died just after my dx (10 days later) and I miss her a lot, already had a collie dog though and walking him has been such a incentive to get some fresh air during chemo. How can you refuse a sweet dog staring at you longingly eh.
You do deserve it too. hope you have a happy life together.
Angie
Tracey - yes 1961 is my birthyear, what a lot we have in common (if only all of it were nice things!) Ralph sounds gorgeous and reading your message makes me realise I have definatley done the right thing. I have actually managed to train him to sit already, which for me is some accomplishment as I am a total softie where animals are concerned and they usually manage to train me first. Good luck to you and I wish you well.
Angie - so sorry to hear about your cat, it is absolutely devestating when a beloved pet dies. I was heartbroken when I lost Babs (she escaped and got run over) she was like a little companion and much loved. Good luck with your treatment and very best wishes.

I’m desperate for a new puppy and not allowed to have one…but am working on it
Good luck with yours and Angie, so sorry to hear about your cat.
Maggie.
Hi Tracy & all,
I’m so pleased you have got a puppy, and I’m sure that little Denzil will fill you with so much joy. We got a cavalier king charles spaniel puppy in feb and called her Daisy, by the end of march we had another, we called her poppy!! Like you say, I thought I deserved something nice. Yorkies are ace cause they’re small like cav’s so you can get the best cuddles.
Daisy and poppy are absolutely gorgeous and fill us with soooo much happiness. We don’t have children (yet!) so they are definately my babies! Like moonshine was saying, our pups have even got their own toy box!
Enjoy little denzil, I’ve no doubt he’s all ready got his paws well and truly under the table!
Take care,
Kelly

Hi Debs, Maggie & Kelly,
It is so lovely to hear about your little bundles of joy!! Maggie, it took me ages to get my dog I was told I couldn’t have one at first but my persistance and constant nagging paid off!!
Kelly, your spaniels sound so sweet - I would have liked to get 2 yorkies but decided on just the one for now, but we may get another in a few months time - when I’ve fathomed out how this one works! I’m housetraining him at the moment and he has only had a couple of accidents so far, I don’t know how long on average it takes but I suppose each puppy is different.
Best wishes to all of you,

Hi all,
I think nagging is the answer don’t you! I have a little poodle Millie who I’m devoted to and a lovely old retriever called Florrie. I had a beloved Cocker, Lupin, who I lost a few years ago and was heartbroken and I feel I ‘need’ 3 dogs again
Tracey…you work on that 2nd yorkie!!
Love, Maggie x
