Thank you so much. It means so much to me knowing there’s people out there going through the same thing and we’re all rooting for each other.
Love your username btw!
lots of love
Hello Lisanthelos, hope I’ve spelt your name properly.
I’ve just gone through exactly the same and had a second op to shave a little bit of the tumour that had been left.
It’s been no worse than the first, to be honest it’s been so much easier as I didn’t need the drain this time, I was so relieved as I found it so painful.
Like you I only know stage 2;but that’s ok, I try not to dwell.
I’m now taking oestrogen blockers that seem to have no side effects that I’ve noticed and awaiting a date to start 15=sessions of radiotherapy,
Once again it’s the waiting, it’s been almost a year of just waiting.
Feel like I’ve entered Through the Looking Glass.
Wishing you all the best.
Morning @glittercat
Hope your surgery went well yesterday. Keep taking the pain meds and doing your exercises. Sending healing vibes xx
Morning @lola3
I am kind of dreading having to have a shave, so many ladies have them. BCN told me 1-5.
I haven’t started my oestrogen blockers yet. I get my results and treatment plan on the 27th and blockers after that. Wonder why some start the blockers at different times? A year of waiting? Why? You poor love.
Mine has been super fast so no complaints there. 1 month from biopsy to surgery, results 2 weeks later. Like a whirlwind.
Hope your treatment goes well and wishing you the best recover xxx
Always turn here in times of need. I’m one year down the line and waiting for first mammogram results, and dont step in here as often as i used to. When i do though this forum of strong warrior women always throws me a lifeline.
The waiting is the worst bit and each milestone in treatment comes with its own set of concerns.
I’m hoping that your results are as good as they can be.
Our new normal can be a bit surreal bit there are plenty of us to support you through.
Thank you! When I first logged on I felt pretty fed up. The amount of good positive support is amazing. Good luck with your 1st scan. Hope it’s the best news for you xxx
I found a lump in my left breast in August, and ive had so many test, its Cancer and they also found it in my lympnodes, im now waiting for a operation as ive ask for the reconstruction, because i had an emergency C Section years ago, i have to have a scan to see if all the blood vessels where reattached, as it wasnt bikini line, im just holding on by the grit of my teeth, and not break down, i never thought it would take so long, im not sleeping or eating very well, i just want this over and done with.
I’m so sorry to hear you have also joined the club nobody wants to join. I hope your treatment goes well.
@gillid I hope your first annual mammogram goes smoothly. I had mine back in July, I’d had a double lumpectomy so I told the radiographer I was apprehensive. She was really careful with the pressure of the plates as it can be more uncomfortable post surgery than with a breast that hasn’t had surgery, although it’s never nice! The wait for results weren’t great, we’ve all been there, but I managed to get a call from the breast care nurse and she told me it was all clear. Their letter came a week later.
@lisyanthus Hello lovely, that is so kind thank you. Yes it went ok yesterday but they kept me in for ages because I couldn’t stop throwing up - yuck. How are you doing? Are you still in a lot of pain? I really hope its calming down. It won’t be long now till your results - its the waiting that can be so horrible can’t it. And I’m sending all my good thoughts for good results for you
So glad you scan was clear and you were able to get the results a little earlier. Waiting is awful.
I hadn’t thought how a mammograms would feel going forward.
I had a seed placed on the tumour a week before my surgery, followed by a mammogram to make sure it was in place. They didn’t allow the mammogram plates to squash my boob, just lightly placed on unlike a normal one. X
Hi @glittercat
Did they give you something to stop you from being sick? They wheeled me out in a wheelchair I was that dizzy. I contacted my GP and he gave me anti sickness tablets, so much better.
Yes next Wednesday results day. I found the exercises easy and they have really helped. Try and keep busy so you’re not thinking too much.
So glad the first part is over for you and the imposter has been evicted. Sending healing vibes xx
So sorry Tetron.
Do you have a date for your surgery? I understand you wanting to get everything over with, the waiting is so hard. I have had a lumpectomy but I am sure ladies who have had reconstruction would be able to help.
I wrote a list of questions for my BCN and felt much better once I had my answers. I’ll be thinking of you x
Hi, lisyanthus, im meeting the plastic Surgeon on the 25th November, to see if he can do the stomach flap, becaues i had an emergency C Section years ago, which was straight down the middle of my stomach, i think he needs to do a scan on my stomach to see if all the muscles and blood vessels where joined back.
Hi Lisyanthus
I’m so sorry I didn’t follow up as to how your results went - things have been pretty hard here. Please let me know how it’s going.
yes I was given a few doses of anti sickness stuff after the surgery - they put it through my canula. and I have tablets at home. But I’m not feeling really sick now.
I’m quite scared of the radiotherapy coming up.
Stay strong lovely
Hi there, how you doing?
I got my results. Grade stayed the same at 2 and a stage one. It was 3 x the size they believed but luckily caught so early, lymph nodes clear and clear margins.
I am going on Wednesday for my tattoos for the radiotherapy and will get my start date then. 5 sessions over 5 days.
I feel so lucky that it was caught so early.
The cut on the breast is fine but the one for the Lymph nodes is giving so much trouble. How are you finding that?
When do you get your results? X
Hi. I had a DCIS in my left breast and my surgeon and I decided on a lumpectomy. When the test results came, the margins weren’t completely clear so I went back the next week for a second round of surgery. I was worried about it but was surprised that the second surgery was not as uncomfortable as the first one. It was less scary since I knew exactly what to expect. Be sure your doctor knows about your reaction to the anesthesia. I had 2 different anesthesiologists and the second one used a different procedure that gave me no side effects. You can do this. We’re all here rooting for you.
Hi @lisyanthus
that sounds like good news - its great they caught it so early any clear lymph nodes! that’s fantastic. I’m happy for you.
Yes I’ve found the lymph node surgery area to be very painful. I have my results on wednesday.
take care
@lisyanthus when I had my 3 tattoos for radiotherapy I asked if they did requests, it took them by surprise as they said most people are usually really quiet. I also had to practise breath hold for them to plan my radiotherapy, they said how well I had done, so I asked if I got a sticker ( I’ve worked in primary school for 20 years), that also made them laugh. To be honest the procedure was so thorough and they were all so lovely, I think there was 5 in the room with both my boobs out on display (I was bi lateral). I hope it goes as smoothly for you tomorrow.
@glittercat i hope your results are good tomorrow, fingers crossed.
Hi naughty,
That’s funny. I don’t know what to expect about tattoos. 5 in the room seems like a bit going on. I believe they are permanent markings too.
Oh well got to be done, treatment her I come. Thank you for replying, take care x
