New to forum

Hello
I am new to the forum, and have been reading everyones in put. I was diagnosed with bc in summer this year, and have had a mastectomy and am having chemo.
I am sure I can’t be alone in reading and researching, and I have a question. Has anyone read about or tried iodine therapy? It seems to be used in the states and I wondered if anyone had any experience of it here?

Hi Janie

hope the forums are helping a little - I find them great for support at every stage.

Have you asked your BC nurse about the iodine? I have a great BCN who is always there when I need her although I know not everyone has been so lucky… I’ve had a quick look online but can’t find any research from recognisable sites with promising results and statistics. Someone else might come through with an answer - a lot of us seem to be online late at night (decent night’s sleep, anyone?!)so you may have more response later on.

Hi Scooterbabe

I did ask my oncologist who looked a bit nonplussed, when I google idodine deficiency and breast cancer I find loads of info esp research papers. Am really looking to see if anyone has tried it. I have an online friend in USA who is being treated for bc with iodine. I am also lucky my team have been fantastic.

I too am online into the night, I am 3 down on my TAC (3 to go)and its turning me into a fridge raiding nocturne.

I have joined a couple of other forums, breastcancerthinktank, which have helped a lot. Its quite a lonely place to be.
