Hi there,
Good to read your story that was almost identical to mine. I had my mastectomy in August and am four sessions into radiotherapy sessions. The tiredness is my main issue and just a little bit of boob tightness around the implant, but otherwise good. Happy to chat and share stories. Keep well and try to remain positive-there is an end x

Hi everyone,
I’m quite late in signing up but was a bit scared of doing it. Reading other people’s journeys has really helped me through.
I had left side mastectomy in mid July, two tumours, 65 mms and 25 mms ( grade 2) plus 16 lymph nodes removed ( 9 positive)
Just had my 3rd FEC today, feeling pretty yucky already but trying to look at the positives. 3 Docetaxel to come then radiotherapy but no idea how much yet.
If anyone has been through the same regime recently I would love an idea of what to expect. I’m not normally much of a sharer but a lot of what I’ve read on the forum helps me realise how many of us go through this. I’m finding I’m more resilient than I thought!!!

Hello Heather,

We have all been there and now we are around for you.

Have a word with your breast cancer nurse, she should have a treatment plan in order for you, explaining how your treatment will take place.

This is always a worrying time, take one day at a time, I can’t give you anymore information as everyone treatment is different

Wishing you lots of health and happiness going forward, keep posting and letting us know how your doing

Biggest hugs Tili :rainbow::pray::rainbow::pray:

Hi looby2. I’m also new on the forum. My diagnosis is almost exactly the same as yours. I found a lump in my right breast on 16 June this year. Saw my gp on Monday 19 and was at the breast clinic on 8 July. The surgeon told me he was 99% sure it was BC which was confirmed on 21 July. Had mastectomy on 10 August. Had first of six rounds of chemo on 18 September, one every three weeks. It’s now 3 months since my mastectomy and I am pleased to say that I am so pleased with the hospital and professionals who are looking after me.

I am 68. I live on my own but have 2 very supportive sons who have taken me to all my appointments. I feel blessed.

I wish you all the best for your treatment.

I hope you don’t mind me tagging my intro on to your post. I have been trying to work out how to do it all afternoon. I wrote out my post but couldn’t see how to post it.

Sorry to hear you’re going through this too Have my 1st Docetaxel next week, got through 3 FEC so onwards and upwards although I understand that the side effects are different . I’m 66 , no children but a fabulous husband and friends. I’m lucky to have met another lady who was having her port taken out when mine was being put in. She gave me her details as she was a long way ahead of me with her treatment, we speak weekly on the phone and she has been really helpful and supportive.
All the best and take each day as it comes xx

Hi, its fine. Am glad everything is going ok for you.
Must admit i feel i am being very well looked after.
Was a bit of a whirlwind at first, but everything seems to be settling down now. Just the chemo to get through, which up to now have not had many side effects.
I am 64 and live with my husband, Colin, who has been brilliant, as have my 2 sons. Even the older Grandchildren are asking questions, which i am answering in the easiest form for them to understand. So pleased you have 2 sons who are very supportive. Times like this we all need as much support as possible. This forum is brilliant. Great for support and any information or advice xx

I haven’t had too many horrible side effects. Last week I had a few days when I couldn’t taste anything but that didn’t last long. Got my 4th chemo on 20th which is Docetaxel. Not looking forward to it as someone on here mentioned the pain she was experiencing. I am going to say positive as usual and face it if it comes to that. Thanks for your support. :hugs::hugs:
