Hello everyone. I’ve just had my diagnosis confirmed today, although my consultant seemed pretty confident on Wed of the outome of the biopsy results. I’m booked for a Sentinal Node Biopsy Marking on 10th & day-case Lateral Excision on 11th. I’ve got a pack of bumpf from the hospital today that I’ll plough through but with being part of a weight loss forum, I know how brilliant and supportive like-minded souls can be, so I just wanted to say Hi for now & I’ll keep in touch for some much needed TLC & advice from those who go before me. Bestest to you all - Chris
Hi Chris
Sorry to hear your news of your dx. What a horrible time to find out that you have BC. Not that there is a good time!
I had a lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy on Sept 10th and am due to have FEC4 on the 4th Jan. I have Grade 3 BC but it had not moved past the sentinal nodes. Like you I have been on a weight loss with slimmers world before I was dx with BC, so know what its like to need support.
I will be thinking of you on the 10th - there is a lot of support on this site - keep posting.
Take care
Janette (Janvis) xx
Hope the sentinel node biopsy is clear for you. I’m sure you’ll find some helpful threads and some helpful people here.
Cheryl
Sorry to hear you have joined us wishing you the best of luck on the 10th. Sentinel node biopsy is not too bad! I had mine in Oct and WLE followed by rads which I have just finished keep posting this site is a godsend and keeps you sane!!
Mini, you’re almost exactly the same stage as me. I had my diagnosis on 8th Dec but surgery booked for 10th Jan (Had a couple of extra investigations done in the meantime, hence the delay, so they weren’t just hanging around.)
It sucks, doesn’t it.
Just as I thought - a welcoming and supportive group to find a home with. Thank you all for your messages.
Chocciemuffin, we might just have that extra little connection with our surgery’s being so close together ~~~~ you’re nowhere near Hereford by any chance - or perhaps Cheltenham (that’s where I’ll have to go for Radiotherapy)?
Janette - I’m not up on the jargon so don’t know what an FEC4 is but my thoughts & best wishes are with you for the 4th.
Smiley60, or anyone else - what sort of gap did you have twixt the WLE & starting rads?

Hi Chris,
Sorry you have found yourself here, but I’m sure you’ll get lord if support.
With regards to the WLE and rads, it depends where you are being treatedand how well you are healing, I had my WLE on 8th Oct, then rads started Nov 26th, it also depends if you need any chemo (I didnt),
Hope that helps, take care and keep in touch x
Hi Chris it was about six weeks but I think it depends on where you are and if your wounds have healed. About ten days before rads started they did the treatment plan and tattoos. Keep posting
