New to the forum

Hello! Just discovered this forum while Googling around about dietary advice for people with breast cancer.

I was diagnosed last month and it’s wonderful to find out a community of fellow travellers on the path to recovery as I am.  It’s great to know that I never need be lonely.  It’s also good because something tells me that although family and friends are supportive,  I think there may come  a time when they may suffer from BC talk overload.   It’s nice to know that I can choose to talk about other things with them but still be able to share my worries or “pearls of wisdom”, (should I ever have any!!) With like minded people who will understand what I am concerned about.

So, hello to you all and thank you in advance for all the support you will grant me in the coming months and beyond.

I had a lumpectomy 3 weeks ago but must go back for an Axillary Node Dissection on Thursday,  so I may be quiet for a while.

My best wishes to everyone on this forum.

Welcome LaParisienne.
Glad you found us and yes, the ladies on this forum are amazingly friendly, helpful and supportive.
Agree re the BC overload…also I think it is easier to talk to people who truly understand the fear and wild emotions this journey involves.
Good luck with the AND - keep checking in when you can.

I just wondered whether you received a breast cancer care pack from your hospital ?

I found the website details in that as well as via Google.

I addition pack contained lots of other useful info.

Hope all goes well for you on Thursday.

Hi laparisienne

My mum is 63 and I’m 39. How old is your daughter? My mum seems to have a similar outlook as you - I wondered if she was just trying to appear strong for me. I’m the one with the BC talk overload but she tells me when we should forget about it for a while! Hope all went well with your op.
