Hello, my name is Kate.
I just wanted to post here as I’ve been really upset and no one to talk to about it. Back in November I felt a sharp/ stinging pain in the bottom right side of my breast. This was on the last few days of my period. I had a feel and could feel a lump/ lumpy area deep in my breast. It feels hard in some positions but squidgy in others. Went to the doctors and he said he couldn’t feel it. Then the pain went away for a month. 2 weeks ago I started having pains again (4 days after my period) but this time they’ve not stopped. I went to the doctors again who said it was probably just breast tissue and that I had dense breasts. The pain has stayed. The breast pain is not terrible just sharp at times and always coming from the lump area. The last week I’ve had aches in my armpit/ shoulder and down my arm. Went to the doctor last Friday and I was determined for her to feel the lump I could feel. She said I had convinced her but she wasnt overly concerned. She said I could wait and see if the pain goes or refer me to a breast clinic. I went with the breast clinic. I’ve had the achy arm/ armpit/ shoulder for a week now and I’m getting so worried. My armpit is sore but I’ve felt and cant feel any swollen lymph nodes and neither could the doctor on friday. My hospital appointment is next Monday. Has anyone ever had similar experiences? I’m so scared as I dont know much about lumps in breast or pain and I’m scaring myself by googling it so dont want to do that anymore.I’m 28 years old, no children, no history of breast cancer.
I would never be afraid to get anything checked out, and always ask for a 2nd opinion if you don’t feel right. Im glad I went to the doctors. I like you felt a lump around my menstrual cycle and got concerned, I left it a few days after my cycle and still felt it and got referred, glad I did now as unfortunately for me it was breast cancer and I have now been treated for it. Hopefully for you it will just be like your doctor said, but i still think you are right to get it investigated just incase.
I am the same, I have had very severe stinging and stabbing pain in the lower part of my left breast. It sometimes hurts my left shoulder and shoots down my arm. Its not in cycle with my period though! I’ve had this on and off for about 3 years now.
Every time I have been to the doctor he has said to not worry about it and that it is nothing. I am 22 years old, have no family history of breast cancer and I have no lump anywhere - but my left breast is quite a lot thicker than my right breast. Over the past few weeks it has been complete agony again and I think its time to return to a different Doctor! It is very worrying and I’m quite scared. I think the worst thing we can do is look online as its so bad to self diagnose! Let me know how you get on!

I went to my GP (I recently changed GPs so she had never examined my painful breast before) and she told me how she isn’t worried at all and that it is healthy and identical to my other breast. I am kind of revealed but I am worried that something may be missed? It is so sore and painful, I would rather not have any boobs than to deal with this awful pain every day!
